Calum was the most perfect person to be in a relationship with. He was sweet, caring, considerate, and best of all, he loved you with all his heart. You knew you wanted to be with him forever.

You were currently cuddled up with him on the couch, Duke was in between you two, with his head resting on your lap as you pet him. Calum had been quiet, possibly a little distant, so you took your pointer finger and ran it down his cheek to get his attention.

He smiled at you. "Yes, babe."

"Are you okay?" You asked.

He nodded his head. "I'm okay. Just going over some things in my head. Why?"

"You're just quiet. More quiet than usual so I just wanted to make sure you were okay. Do you want to talk about what you were thinking?"

"I'm fine, baby." He leaned over and gave you a kiss. "I want to take you out tomorrow, spend the day with you. Can I?"

You had been dating Calum for three years now and he still asks you out like it's the first date. You loved how respectful he was. "I'd love that. But we could also just stay in."

"We do that all the time. I want to take you out of the house for once." He laughed.

"Okay, Cal. What are we going to do?"

"That's a surprise. I actually have the whole day planned. It's going to be perfect."

"Whole day? What are you going to do? Propose to me. Ask me to marry you?" You laughed because you weren't being serious. You guys never really talked about marriage but you did talk about spending your lives together. You both knew you wanted the other forever. A ring and a piece of paper wouldn't make it any different.

Calum froze and the look of sadness washed over his face. "Wait. How'd you know? Did one of the girls tell you? I told them not to say anything."

"Oh? Oh. You actually were? Oh no! Baby! I'm so sorry. I  was just making a joke." You hugged him. "I didn't mean to ruin anything."

Calum looked away from you. "It's not a surprise anymore."

"Babe, it's still a surprise. I don't know what the ring looks like." You tried your best to cheer him back up, since you accidentally ruined his plan.

He perked up. "That's right!" He said with excitement. "You don't. So don't go taking any guesses or else I might have to just take it back."

"Please don't. I want it! I want to marry you."

"You really do? Because I know it never really comes up so I didn't think you'd say yes. I don't know. Maybe I was overthinking it." He sighed. "So you actually do?" He asked again and you nodded. "Good. Now I can be a little less nervous about it, knowing you will say yes."

The next day came quickly. You woke up to Calum scrolling through his phone. "Morning, babe." You said as you stretched.

"Good morning, beautiful. I'm glad you're awake now. I'm going to make you breakfast." He was about to get out of bed but your voice made him stop.

"No morning cuddles?"

He looked at you. "Can they wait til after breakfast? I'm kinda excited to cook for you."

You pouted a little but still agreed. "Fine. But only because you're cute and sweet."

Both of you walked downstairs together. "You sit in here, while I go to the kitchen." He pointed to the couch then walked into the other room. Calum cooked often but not breakfast so you were interested to see how this would go.

Ten minutes into him being in the kitchen, he comes back out. "Babe, I hate to ask.."

"You need my help, don't you?" He nodded. "Let's go." You got up from your seat and walked into the kitchen with him. You hopped up on to the counter. "What do you need help with? I will guide you since you want to cook for me."

He asked about your favorite breakfast dish. He didn't know the exact recipe and wanted it to be right for you. So you guided him through everything without moving from your spot. When he finally finished, he walked up to you and settled in between your legs. "Now that that's done, we can eat, before I decide on something better to eat." He smirked.

"Calum.." You blushed. He always made you feel wanted and loved.

Or at least that's what you wanted to believe.

After breakfast, you were sat on Calum's lap, making out with him. One hand playing with the hair at the back of his neck while the other was placed on his chest. You pulled away and smiled. "I love you so much Calum Thomas Hood."

"I love you too, y/n y/m/n Hood." He smiled back at you.

"Why does that sound so...right? It flows so nicely."

"It does, doesn't it. It feels right."

You hand that was on the back of his neck was now moving up and down the side of his neck, fingertips gently grazing over his skin. As you moved your hand more, you noticed Calum's neck becoming more and more red but just in one spot. You looked at your hand and you noticed there was makeup on it. You were very confused so you took a closer look at his neck. There were a couple of spots that were a different color than his actual skin tone that you hadn't noticed before. He was wearing makeup to cover up something. But what?
