Contractor

Noun

a person or company that undertakes a contract to provide materials or labor to perform a service or do a job.

Rain clouds blanket the sky whilst gracing the land below with bone chilling rain, prompting most animals as well as people to seek shelter, save for one, a solitary figure, wearing a cloak, with vibrant silver eyes, sunkissed skin, a buzzed head, complemented by a black beard. "Fuckin' rain.." the figure muttered to himself, visibly displeased with the weather. His lementing was Interupted by music and the sound of cheers, coming from a two story building. The Stonewing inn; home to a variety of drink, entertainment, and information.

The traveler steps through the door, up to the bar maid, being eyed up and down by the other patrons. Most of the towns folk were xenophobic, so a new comer usually meant a series of slurs and rude looks. The crowds muttered to themselves as music started up once more, and the figure leaned against the bar. Soon enough, the bar maid came and spoke. "We got beer and Ale. But be warned we dont take kindly to-" She was cut off by Dom placing his hand on the table. "I'm looking for a blonde male, hair down to his back, green eyes, wears a silver pendant, and stands taller than most men." He stated as the middle aged woman chewed on some tobacco, and is taken aback by how direct and mildly rude he was. "Look, I dont give out information on my customers, even if they are a waste of space. You with the Legion?" She asked, prompting the Stranger to shake his head.

"I'm a contractor. So no, not any more." He answered while removing his cloak, exposing his leather and chain mail. Naturally he took a seat. "Oohh, you're one of them, huh? Wha'td he do?" The coffee colored Male looked up at her, merely ignoring the question. "Did he come through here or not?" He asked once more, in a stoic tone. She rolled her eyes, and bit her cheek in response "yeah he did, said something about heading to the east. It's true what they say about you contractors. Y'all are rude sons of bitches. You want anything to drink? If not get out." She said admittedly the contractor was reluctant to leave, seeing as the rain was still an issue he'd rather not face, he decided he would pay. "Ale. For the receipt of sale, put Dominus." The stoic individual said, placing a small pouch of currency down for the older woman.

Meanwhile at one of the near by tables, a trio of rough looking individuals eyed Dominus, particularly the ornate short sword attached to his hip. One of the three stops up, a female with hair as dark as obsidian, and walked over to the lonely looking Dominus, and sitting next to him. "Rough weather out there huh?" "Yep." The male said, disinterested in what ever she had to stay. The fair skinned woman put on a faint grin at the strange man's reaction, used to having men drool over her. "So tell me Mr. Contractor does it ever get lonely on the road all alone?~"

Dom's drink came, prompting him to take a sip, and turn his gaze over to her, whennsuddenly, he his silver eyes gave a flash of recognition. "You look familiar. Like someone I ran into. You have s brother?." he stopped and rolled his shoulders a bit. She shakes her head. "Mm, no, not any more." She reaches down her leg slowly, giving Dominus a smile, when it hit him. "You know, I think I do know you. You're Vikki, Genha, brother of Richard Genha." He deduced, prompting her to lose her smile. "So you do remember?" "I remember your brother. Shouldnt have tried to kidnap the prince." Dominus said as the two other goons st the table stood up. Dominus sighed upon hearing the wooden furniture creek, knowing what was going to happen next. "Killing me wont bring him back." The contractor warned. "No, but it will make us even." She said, just as the music stopped and the crowd watched in anticipation.

Dom drank his bottle once more, getting ready for the three to make their move. Vikki was the first, pulling out a stiletto to try and stab Dom. The contractor felt his muscle memory kick in, and used his forearm to block her from bringing the dagger down further. In retaliation, Dominus wrapped his arm around her head, putting her into a head lock and kneeing her in the stomach, causing Vikki to hunch over in pain and cough. The contractor then shoved her into one of the two goons, leaving the other one to stab him. Dominus instinctively tried to catch it, and ended up being stabbed through the palm.

Naturally, Dominus let out a yowl of pain, but now controlled the weapon and the agressor's hand. "Mother fucker!" He cursed before headbutting the goon, and grabbing his empty bottle, cracking it over his face, shattering the bottle. Before he could finish him, Vikki had tackled him into.the crowd, that now cheered for the defeat of the outsider. Vikki straddled his chest now, and tried to land several blows to his face. Dom did his best, but ended up catching a few of her strikes. Despite the pain, he managed to catch her hand and pull it to the side, rolling over so that he was ontop of her, slamming his fist into her solar plexus, an area just below the center of the ribcage. Vikki gasped out in return, rolling on her side.

The two males in her company were still a problem, one a bit woozy fortubatly. Seeing the blood, the stable goon smirked and charges Dominus, who countered hy grabbing his arm and turning around before crouching, flinging the aggressor to the floor. Dominus then swung his legs over his chest and face, keeping his elbow up against his pelvis. Suddenly, Dominus arched his hips, causing both a loud crunching noise and scream of pain. The crowd reacted with an oo and loud shout Dominus was satisfied with his disabled opponents and rolled backwards to his feet, now only the other two would be an issue. "Leo! What are you waiting for, get your ass in gear and kill him!" Vikki said as she regained her footing. The bloody bandit would obey his bosses orders and attempt to charge him. Dom put a hand on his short sword, waiting for the fool to make his move. He didnt want to draw his sword, preferring not to feed it unworthy foes.

The foolish bandit of course obeyed but before he could tackle the contractor, Dominus countered with an uppercut to his jaw, knocking him out cold. Now the crowd was quiet, more fearful than resentful by now. The silver eyed warrior stepped towards Vikki, who despite her best efforts, exhibited the signs of fear. "You wanna stop now?!" He said. Giving her one last opportunity to walk away. Pride made reckless, and charged him, letting out a finall war cry. Dominus rolled his silver orbs and caught her wrist once more and three her down, placing his knee on her stomach. And taking the dagger from her hands, angling it down towards her chest. The vengeful woman tried to fight back, pushing the blade away as it inched closer to her chest. Vikki hissed and snarled at the angry Contractor, who already wasnt known for mercy. In the end, her fighting and protesting proved usless, as the narrow blade pierced her chest, and was pushed through her vital organs, making her gasp and whimper her last breaths.

After 30 seconds, Dominus stood up and rolled his shoulder, hissing when his hand throbbed in pain. All that could be heard was the spring time.crickets chirping now, as the town's folk had just witnessed the death of one of the more feared bandit leaders. Dominus grabbed his cloak walked back outside, the rain having long stopped since he came in. He ended up leaving just as he entered, with out a word.
