Kaito x reader Fluff

[Ok so there gonna be a little bit of angst. (I actually don't know if this counts as angst or not) And thats really it. I hope you like this. Btw spoiler free! Its a made up trial. Basically no one died.]

(Y/n) was in trouble. Everyone was suspecting them. They are the quiet type, and this trial, they didn't help at all. Nobody saw them during the time of the murder.

(Y/n) bit her their lip, feeling eyes looking at her. They was panicking. They didn't know how the blackened managed to frame her. They were trying to think. Their head started hurting. They didn't have an alibi. They were just in their room. (Y/n) felt sweat go down there face, down to there neck.

"..." The air felt thicker. Like if they were being suffocated. "I-I-I... Didn't do it though...."

"Your the only person that doesn't have a alibi at all." Kokichi replied "Nishishi! We backed them into a corner!"

"Nyahahaha! Looks like we caught ourselves the culprit!" Angie laughed

"How can everyone just...."  (Y/n) was feeling betrayed.

"Hey... Wait a second..." Kaito said with a sigh.  "I just re-read the monokuma file. The estimated time of death was 2:30 am right?"

(Y/n) just stood there. Where is this idiot going with this?

"Yeah....why?" Maki replied

"Well that means (y/n) is actually innocent!" Kaito yelled

"What?" Himiko looked Katio

"See, I kinda forgot about the time of death. But, at 2:25, Me and Maki was talking right in front of their dorm. They walked in her dorm around 1:00 am. I didn't see them leave." He desperately looked at maki, as if he was begging her to confirm it.

"Thats correct. (Y/n) walked in their dorm around 1 am. I was there early so I should know. They probably didn't know that I was there because I was still walking to her dorm." Maki sighed.

Kokichi smirked.

Kaede sighed in relief "So, now thats settel-"

"Man, I was about to believe that! Until I remembered that Im a liar~!" Kokichi cut her off.

"Sure, Liar!" Tenko screamed

"Kehehe... If (y/n) couldn't have possibly done it.... Who else could it be?" Kyio asked.

//the trial went on for a while. Eventually, they found the culprit. Monokuma executed them, and everyone went back to there dorms. Except for (y/n)\\

(Y/n) was sitting in the grass, looking up into the night sky. They we're upset. Tears were about to fall out of their eyes. They wanted to leave this place.

"Hey, it's a nice night, am I right?" Kaito said, sitting next to (y/n).

"I...I guess..." (Y/n) replied

"Well this is a pretty obvious question, but are you feeling ok?"

"N...no"

"Well if you are feeling bad, you can let me know."

"...."

"...."

"...."

"...Why did you protect me...?"

"Why else? I knew you couldn't do it."

"...huh?"

"Well, I mean, You seem like the type of person that is scared to talk to others."

"Thats a idiotic way of looking at it... Haha.."

"Well, as the luminary of the stars, I will protect the innocent until the end! And then I can finally go to space one day!"

"...wow... Your a idiot."

"I-"

"But at least you helped me with your idiotic ways. So thank you."

"Your welcome, I guess."

(Y/n) started to cry slightly... Not happiness, but regret.

"Maybe if I helped them investigate... Or talked to them... This could have been avoided..."

"So your still blaming it on yourself... Huh?"

"...'

" Then its final! You are now my sidekick!"

"....h-huh?"

"As my sidekick, all your mistakes, regrets, and everything else are now mine!"

Kaito smiled and hugged (y/n)

"Now, live life how you want, with no regrets."

(Y/n) was confused but hugged back

"The impossible is possible! As long as you make it so!"

(Y/n) felt inspired. They hugged for a long time.
