IT WAS QUIET IN THE. CAR AS THEY DROVE THROUGH THE NIGHT. She fidgeted with her fingers as he eased the car into an empty parking spot in front of the large apartment complex. The soft breeze fluttered through the cracked windows, chilling the area within the cab. Jackson Wang pulled out his cellphone and rang the boy's phone, alerting him that he had arrived. The girl sat in the front seat sighed as she eyed the complex with narrowed eyes. Leave it to him to be late.

Then he eyed his daughter who held a frown on her features. She was spitting mad he could tell it by the way her eyes glared daggers at the tinted windows. "Why are you mad, baobei?" he asked softly in Cantonese. His daughter shook her head firmly. "I'm not mad" she stated.

Just then, he came bumbling out his door, jacket hanging on one arm and his dyed locks messy atop his head. He was using his phone's flashlight to navigate, but it only lit up a fraction of the trail. "Is he ever properly dressed?" she mumbled under her breath with an eye roll, though a soft smile tugged at the corners of her mouth. Untied shoes and a shirt worn backwards, Seo Hyunsuk looked like a train wreck, but upon seeing the vehicle, he stopped and waved.

Jackson, full of amusement as he watched the boy approach the car, waved back. She sighed ignoring him as he entered the act. "Hey guys" he breathed. He leant forward to finally tie his shoes as he tossed his phone onto the seat closest to him. "Do you have everything?" Jackson asked, to which Hyunsuk confirmed with a "yes, sir" and curt head nod. Jackson laughed at that. "Your shirt is wrong" he chuckled, seeing how the male tried to fix it. Then he turned to his daughter. "Jinghua" he whispered softly. "Say hello." She shook her head, still a little bit angered about the fact that he was late.

Hyunsuk struggled to flip his shirt without taking it off, but he seemed to just get even more tangled within the fabric. He grunted before giving up and ripping the tag off of the neck. "Sorry about being late," he quickly spoke up, eyes flittering between Jinghua and her father. "I ended up taking a shower and slipped—" His cheeks flushed at the embarrassing confession, but he knew that Jackson would not make fun of him. "I think I broke one of the shampoo bottles, but I didn't see any of it on the floor." Jinghua rolled her eyes.

"You're so clumsy" she said. Jackson glanced at her. "Did you hurt yourself and how's your parents?" he asked. Hyunsuk nervously rubbed his neck before shaking his head. "I don't, I don't think so. But appa is helping Uncle Chan with his next single and eomma is tired, but I think its because she's pregnant." The news shocked the two in the front, but Hyunsuk didn't see the big deal. He had always wanted a younger sibling. "How do you get that from her being tired? She's a nurse," Jinghua asked in disbelief, narrowed eyes pointed at the sharp chinned boy. "She shows off classic signs. Tiredness, cravings, gaining weight." Jinghua scoffed. Jackson, however, laughed. "Maybe you shouldn't tell people she's pregnant, in case she isn't."

The Wang girl folded her arms. "Does that mean you think I'm fat too?" She asked dangerously low.  His eyes widened in surprise. He quickly shook his head in defense. "I–I didn't say that!" he whined, pouting at the girl. "I just stated that eomma is gaining weight. I didn't– ugh!" A triumphant smirk found the girl's lips as she turned back into her seat. "Got you!" she laughed feeling happy. "Don't let her hear this thou" she added. Her father chuckled.
"Eomma and baba better not have given me another sibling with their late night activities", she continued eyeing her father.
Hyunsuk grimaced, tongue poking past his lips as he made a sound of disgust. "I'd rather not talk about the process," he mumbled and this made Jinghua laugh. "You two are too young to know these kind of things," Jackson spoke with a shake of his head. "Where do you even learn it?" Hyunsuk's eyebrows lifted and he turned to see Jinghua already facing him, hiding behind the seat. Their eyes met and a few seconds later, they both bursted out into laughter.

Jackson eyed them suspiciously. "Explain, now", he said. "School", Jinghua voiced, laughing. She wiped her eyes trying to ignore her father's face. “School?”, Jackson echoed seeming to be worried that his daughter got to learn about things like that.
Hyunsuk chuckled checking his phone. A message from his father telling him that he loved him and one from one of their friends.
Want to meet?

He sighed, deciding not to answer immediately. He knew that Jinghua had a short temper when it came to this girl. What he didn't expect was that they would bump in said girl. Kim Haerin smiled at them, as the three of them entered the bubble tea shop. Jackson didn't notice the girl at first but Jinghua and Hyunsuk did. “Hyunie, Jinnie, how are you?”, she greeted. “Good”, Hyunsuk replied, scratching his head.  Jinghua didn't reply mumbling something in Cantonese.

Haerin glanced at her, eyeing the girl nervously. “Do you want to do something fun?”, she asked. “Like what?” “Going bowling with the others? This evening?”
Hyunsuk nodded helplessly as Jackson walked up to them. “Here you go”, he voiced. “Oh, hello Haerin.” “H- hello Mr Wang”, the girl replied, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear. He chuckled lightly. “Bowling?” He eyed each of the teens seeing their bright smile. Jinghua nodded slightly. “Come on, I can take you with us there.”

Together they walked outside the shop to his car. As Jackson eased the car into the streets, he saw each teen typing away on their phones. Knowing them, it was their group chat. He smiled slightly not noticing the dark clouds that announced a storm.
