"Idiot!" Dwight yelled, chasing Jim to Dunder Mifflin's small kitchen.
"I love you too, Dwight." Jim's long legs posing an advantage as he ran from the angry man.
They rushed past the annex, Ryan and Kelly's bickering momentarily silenced as they watched the two sprint by. Jim was halfway up to the roof when Dwight gripped the fabric of his pants and pulled him down the rusty ladder.
"Ow! Ow! Stop it, Dwight!" Jim fell on his feet, Dwight's grip on his arms the only thing keeping him from falling. "You got me, Dwight. But I recommend getting your stuff out of the vending machine before someone nabs it."
"Shut up! I'm not buying my own property, Jim!" Dwight's breathing was heavy as he pinned Jim to the ladder. "I know you're friends with the vending machine guy!"
"Sorry, Dwight, not much I can do about it..." Jim tried to wrestle himself free of Dwight's grasp. "But, there is a bag of coins under my desk-" Dwight sprinted away, as Jim rubbed his sore wrists. He chuckled to himself, another prank gone well, another day of tricking Dwight. It never got old. He was just so gullible, it was almost too easy.
"Hi Dwight! What do you think I should get from the vending machine?" Pam smiled at the camera, Dwight's pencil holder perched in her hand.
"Shut up, Pam. Let me through." Stupid, stupid Jim. His wallet was in there, for God's sake. So was his stapler, scissors, and pencil h- "PAM! Give it back!" She tossed it in his direction, smiling as Jim entered the break room. Dwight caught it, throwing coin after coin into the slot. "Why would you give me nickels, Jim? This is going to take forever."
"Yeah, that's the point, Dwight." Jim leaned against the soda machine, smiling. Dwight huffed, mumbling something incoherent under his breath. "What was that?"
"I said, I hate you! Idiot! You always do this!" Dwight yelled, slamming his fist on the glass. "It's not funny anymore." Jim just reached around him, seeing him flinch as he grabbed a few nickels. Dwight elbowed him as leaned back towards the sodas. Jim slapped him lightly across the forehead, followed by Dwight throwing his stapler at Jim's head. Jim managed to duck out of its way, but it hit the wall with a loud crack, and they looked at the hole in the drywall with mouths agape.
"It wasn't me" They both said in unison, looking at each other.
"We'll just say Andy did it, if anyone asks. Okay?" Jim raised his eyebrows at his enemy.
"Fine, Idiot." The two left the break room without another word. They returned to their desks, Pam smiling at Jim as he sat down. He winked in return. "I need your stapler, Jim. You broke mine."
"No, you're the one who threw it." Dwight just snatched the stapler out of his hand.
5 O'clock couldn't come soon enough. He said goodbye to Dwight, getting a glare in response, before walking out with Pam. They laughed together, and Jim saw Pam's boyfriend, Bill, waiting to drive Pam home. She'd broken things off with Roy a few months earlier, and met Bill in her art class.
"How are things going with Bill?" Jim asked.
"You jealous, Halpert?" Pam snickered, "No, he's great. We're great."
"Thats's good."
"How are things going with Dwight?"
"What's that supposed to mean?"
Pam just gave him a pointed look before hugging him and joining Bill in her car. Jim smiled, about to drive away himself, when he realized he forgot his coat. "Damn!" He muttered, jogging back to the office before it got locked up. He ran up the stairs, about to grab his coat, when he saw Dwight.
"Hey, Dwight." The older man jumped, looking up at Jim. "Staying late?"
"None of your beeswax." Dwight rubbed his aching eyes.

Monday came too soon for the people of Dunder Mifflin. They shuffled into the office, almost glad to be out of the morning chill. (Almost.)
Jim greeted Pam, and got a chunk of his work done so he'd have some free time. He sat in the break room with a grape soda, listening to music. Pam walked in several minutes later.
"Hey Jim. Any pranks for today?"
"Maybe. Not feeling very creative at the moment." He pulled one of his earbuds out.

"Dwight! Want some coffee?" Jim asked early on Tuesday as Dwight walked into the kitchen. He narrowed his eyes at Jim.
"Only if I watch you make it, idiot."
Jim raised his eyebrows, and Dwight handed him a mug. Jim actually made Dwight normal coffee, with just milk and some sugar. Dwight looked shocked.
"..Thank you."

"Morning, Dwight." Jim said, wiping his eyes. "Coffee again?"
"Yes. Bring it to my desk? I've got lots of work today." Dwight walked off. The first time in one week of Jim making him coffee that he didn't insist on watching the whole process. Jim high-fived himself mentally. He couldn't mess this up. Somewhere deep in his brain, there was a primal urge to mess with him, but Jim pushed it away. He finally walked over to his desk and handed the coffee to Dwight, who nodded at him and took a tentative sip. After another quick glance, he deemed it edible. Jim smiled, strolling towards Pam's desk.
"What's this? Don't tell me you're already giving up on not pranking him." She smiled, leaning her head on her hand.
"No! I've made him normal, edible coffee for a week. Are you proud of me?"
"Wow, Jim! You're being a decent human being to him? Here's a pat on the back!" Pam rolled her eyes.
"Thanks, Beesly."
