Chapter 20

We arrive at a secluded space right in front of a huge door.

"Woah... how should we get in?"

Dawon try's to open it with the handle but it won't budge.

"Do a spell or something."

"I can't. I have to save up energy to get Jiwoo out of here."

Right.

Okay let me try something.

My eyes turn red and I try twisting the lock.

"Gosh this won't budge."

"I wonder why..." a voice whispers at my ear just as I get thrown against the door.

I land on the floor and try to get up.

I look up and see a guy I've never seen before with bright blue eyes.

My eyes glance around trying to find Dawon but he's nowhere to be seen.

Please rescue Jiwoo...

The guy lifts my head up by my hair.

"Another one came to have fun."

I glare at him but he just laughs.

"You wanna become like that rotten corpse?"

He points towards a body beaten up to a pulp.

I shudder but then realize who it is.

It's Matthew.

I lift myself and stare dead in the guys eyes.

"I'm way stronger than him."

And in one swift motion I catapult him 100 feet away from me.

I chase after him and use my body strength to punch him.

He staggers a bit but lifts me up and throws me away.

I hit a wall and feel myself get bruised.

No matter, I land on my feet and strike him over and over again.

Just as I think I have the upper hand he slams me into the floor.

I can't move.

"Enough games. I think it's time to finish this mess."

I keep sinking into the hard stone floor as he pushes me down.

"W-who are you."

"Second in command to Rowoon."

I gasp as I start to suffocate.

"Why? You're... way stronger than him."

He scoffs and stops pushing me.

"He got chosen that's why. And we're a pack I won't betray him."

I smirk.

"But you want to. You want to be alpha, all you have to do is defeat him. You deserve it more than him. He was losing to that pulp you beat over there. Isn't that embarrassing?"

I feel his hand tremble and he pulls me out of the ground.

He lifts me up and faces me towards him giving me a nasty glare.

"What are you implying?"

"All I'm saying is that if I were you I'd become alpha."

Just then an evil laugh erupts from him. It shakes the ground and he drops me.

"You're right. Why am I helping him with this stupid plan?"

In a second he's gone.

I let out a breath of relief.

I'm saved...

Jiwoo!

I stand up and try to run as quick as I can to the door.

I find Matthew there trying to open it.

He looks warily at me but then smiles.

"Good job, I thought we were all going to die."

I laugh.

"I'm good at surviving Matthew."

We look at each other and then look away.

This is awkward.

I haven't spoken like this with him in a while.

Suddenly the door burst open and Dawon walks through with Jiwoo in his arms.

"He seems to have given her a sleeping potion. We have to take her safely home."

Matthew quickly grabs her hand and squeezes it.

"Dawon teleport her home, she needs to be safe, I'll run back."

He nods and disappears.

I'm about to leave when Matthew pulls me back.

"Can I go too...?"

I sigh and just nod.

We arrive to the house accompanied by Somin and J.Seph,

We all swarm into Jiwoo's room.
