The Maze Games

Chapter 1

This is in the perspective of Noah! I hope you guys like it! Here we go

I wake up in my cold dark room. I want to pull up my covers and go back to sleep but sadly it's time to decide which 2 people will be representing Canada. Every year, two people are chosen from different countries to fight in The Maze Games. I live in Canada so I could be chosen to be in The Maze Games. I can't be chosen. My mother and brother. We've already lost my sister to The Maze Games. They can't lose me now. I get out of my bed while rubbing my eyes. I open my room door and peak in my brothers room. Still sleeping. I take a hot shower. During my shower, I can't help but think about my brother or I being chosen. I get out of my shower and change into a blue shirt with black pants. I walk out of the bathroom and I see my mother making breakfast and my brother getting up. I say good morning to my mother and walk into my room and sit on the side of my bed, looking at a picture of my sister. You have no idea how much I miss her. She was always there for me no matter what. I wish I could speak to her one last time before she left. I love you, Lizzie. My mother comes into my room and tells me that breakfast is ready. I stand up and walk to table. I see 2 pancakes with a toast and eggs and bacon. I'm starving so I eat it all in less then five minutes. My brother comes out of the bathroom while I'm washing my plate.
"Good Morning Noah," He says
"Hey Daniel" I reply "You don't have to worry about today. We don't know what this games will be like but I know you are smart and that you could outsmart everyone there"
Daniel does nothing but looks at his feet.
Once he's finished his breakfast, we head over to the choosing ceremony. We wait for about 5 minutes before it starts.
A woman walks on stage and starts speaking.
"Good Morning everyone. My name is Melissa. It is so wonderful to see all your smiling faces."
I turn around and no one is smiling at all. Not even one single person
"As you know, there must be one girl and one boy to enter the Maze Games." Melissa says " The maze games started when scientists had found that there was a cure to cancer and only a fraction of the people had what you needed for the cure. These games are helping the scientists to find those people. The scientists call the people who have the right brain to find the cure are called Divergent's. They are extremely rare. They are also extremely dangerous at the same time. They can either help us or destroy the whole system."
There could be a Divergent right next to me and I have no idea.
"It's time to pick the female tribute for The Maze Games." Melissa says
She walks to her right. She takes her time choosing the name. She finally chooses a name near the bottem. Melissa walks slower then a snail back to the microphone and opens the sheet of paper like she has frozen time. What feels like an hour later, she finally opens the paper and says the name "Sydney White". I look around and I hear A slim girl gasp and tears form in her eyes. She hugs a girl next to her and slowly walks up to the stage.
"
Now, for the males" Melissa says.
Once again she walks slower then a snail and picks out the name. It feels like time has slow down. She opens the page and yells out the name "Daniel Altan". My vision around me is blurred and I feel dizzy. I've lost my sister and now I could be losing my brother.
I walk to wear my brother is standing and tells him that he isn't going in to the games. I am.
