First off I wanted to start off this chapter by apologizing for its lateness. I have been so busy and realize that I can not post these on schedule, atleast right now. I will be on break from school for about 2 weeks and I will just be updating and posting more chapters as I feel, and when I can. Thanks for understanding and enjoy. PS: Thanks for 60 views.

My hand really hurt now, the throbbing pain, as if my heart had moved right into my palm. Shirt soaked in red, but the bleeding had stopped. Vanessa wasn't next to me when I woke up, but her bag still remained on the side. I walked out of the closet and peered out the door. There was an empty room, with no human being left to be seen.

The sun was so bright I couldn't keep my eyes open, I squinted my way through the house as the rays bounced off the white walls. I turned the corner, and the glimpse of blue caught my eye, she stood calm, and quiet, and out the window she stared.

"Looking for anything special?" I commented.

"My God!" She screamed. "You scared the hell out of me."

I laughed, I could tell from that point on she was easy to scare, and that was probably something she shouldn't have wanted me to know, scaring people is my thing.

"And if you are done sneaking up behind me, I am looking at the bunny outside."

I peered out the window to see a small, brown rabbit, about 6 inches in length, trotting along down the road with the ocassional stop and sniff. He was cute, on his own, and unknowing of the real world around him. I stpped away from the window and sat down. The recliner was my favorite chair to sit in when I was a little boy, I always messed around and hid under it when my Dad and I played hide and seek. I don't know why I thought I would win everytime, he always knew I was going to hide there, but he played along as I giggled at his terrible seeking skills.

CRASH! The tree had fallen next door and landed just in front of the window, glass shards flying everywhere, Vanessa on the floor from the force against the clear view.

"I'm fine." She groaned. She was able to get up on her own.

I ran to the window, curious on what had caused the fall, there was no wind, something or someone had caused it. It wasn't long until I realized what had caused it and what it had done. A prowler was hungry, a prowler saw lunch, and out the window a prowler sat munching on what was left of the brown hopping creature that we had just witnessed.

Vanessa went into the back of the house, she needed a break, we all did and we always do. It's just a different world we live in now, and it's much different than before.

"Will! Wi-l-l!" Vanessa cried out, it was hard for her to get the words out.

I ran, to the back of the house, I felt the wind against my face and shirt, as I slid on the hardwood floors. But when I got there, there was no time left, they were already bursting through the doors.

"You have to get out of here. LOOK AT ME!" I screamed and held on to her shoulders. "You run, okay? You go straight out that door and right up the street, you wait at that bus stop for me, you stay safe. If I am not there in 10 minutes, I think you know what that means." I pushed her as one of the boards snapped off and hands started to poke through.

I couldn't take both bags, my hand hurt way to bad and was swollen enough. With no time for the decision, I had to save hers over mine. I put the bag around my neck so it would be easier to run, but they were in the house. The first one came running right at me. I spun around three hundred and sixty degrees, shoving the bag right into his stomach, to give me enough time to get out.

I was already out of breath, just a couple feet in front of the house with a 30 pound back running away from hundreds of prowlers. I didn't think I could do it. I ran and ran, and could see the bench with Vanessa standing there anxious to help. She grabbed her bag and I stood there and that's when I fell over and blacked out.

I also apologize about the length of this Chapter, but I MIGHT post Chapter 6 today also and make that the same length so it is almost like a 1500 word chapter that is split. I just really wanted to get this out there and I felt like this was also a really good place to stop. Hope you are liking everything so far.
