Do you see me breathing or fading?
I've stayed awake through many darkened skies,
my eyes have held back tears,
my heart can't deny
A voice softly spoken always waits for an echo,
moonlight gleams on my skin revealing my stitching,
broken bones held together by string
my soul's melody rattles my ribs,
causing my own thoughts to sting
Do you see me as I am or how I feel?
I dance with my dreams under the stars,
watching you live without a pause,
If only you could stop and see,
you need me more than your own dignity
the change you stir up makes your sanity grin,
but life is aligned by you within,
one who traps inner demons in a box,
showing others how to keep them locked
Are yours contained or are you mocked?
I wait for the sun to set me free,
warming my soul and curiosities,
with you out of view,
my heart gets heavy in need of rescue
thorns and vines wrap around my head,
causing a draught inside of thirsty dread,
Do you see me or my reflection?
my pumping heart bleeds itself into secretion,
tearing through my chest in pieces,
breaking apart my rib cage for a painful depletion...
