chapter 13 ♣ Corrected Mistakes

"So where is she?” Zach asked anxiously, trying to peep behind Kate, into the house

"Don't bother. She's not in here. She's labour. Seven months is a very long time Zach, or didn't you know? I only came back here to get some necessary things for her. We all are in the hospital, including your family.”

"Alright well, what are we waiting for? Let's go over there ”

"Push!!!" the doctor encouraged, and Eve pushed with everything she had, and the baby's head came out.

Naturally, she wasn't supposed to deliver this baby until at least another two weeks time, but too much stress, had gotten her into labour. Frankly, she was even surprised that she hadn't lost the baby, that she hadn't had a miscarriage. Her baby was strong!

In the past few months, she'd forgotten how to laugh, managing to live everyday, because of her baby. She kept thinking about Zach. She was a fool to have fallen in love with him. Did she think her life was a romantic novel? How could she think that he would have left everything, just to come be with her? Whose wishful thinking was that?

Yet the first three months, she had still hoped. Hoped that he was going to come, but it was obvious after the fifth month, he really was never coming back. And she would have gone insane, if not for her baby.

In more ways than one, her unborn child had kept her from going over the edge, and so had her family, who from her dad, had later found out she was pregnant.

They had all contributed, helping her in the most trying times of her life, as a pregnant woman.

And suddenly it dawned on her that, all these things weren't worth it, if Zach wasn't here, to see his child grow. To help her raise their child, to be here with her. She wasn't worth more than a well paying job to him. She wasn't good enough to make him leave Marilyn.”

Somewhere at the back of her mind, she heard a doctor say

"she's loosing consciousness!”

But she didn't care anymore she just wanted peace.

"Eve!!!!!!!!!!”

Wait! What was that? Was that Zach's voice? No that was crazy. There was no way Zach would be here. Oh! She was so pathetic,  she was now hearing imaginary voices also?

"Eve! I'm right here ” Zach said, coming into the labour room, and tightly holding her arms.

He came back. That was all that registered within her, as she mustered all her strength and pushed the baby out, then lost consciousness
