Forever Level 1

Ye boiis, me gonna be dropping a new story.

"Good job right there, Yoshizaki-san" Kanegawa praised.

"Mhm." I shortly answered as I sheathed my weapon.

After fixing our things and collecting loot, Tsugawa spoke.

"Naganuma-san, what level are you on right now?" Tsugawa, the party's healer asked.

Well, the members of this party are me, Yoshizaki Sei, Kanegawa Kaede, Naganuma Seiki, and lastly, Tsugawa Yui.

Our roles are the following: An assassin, swordsman, mage, and priestess.

"I'm at 197 now, what about you?" Naganuma said before throwing the same question back.

"I'm at 189 now. What about Yoshizaki-san and Kanegawa-san?" Tsugawa answered as she threw the same question once again.

"I'm at 195 now. And please, stop bullying Yoshizaki since you already knew the curse he has." Kanegawa said to defend me.

"Well... I'm still level 1." I answered shortly, not minding Tsugawa at all.

"I see... I'm sorry for asking, Yoshizaki-san." Tsugawa said as she apologize.

"It's fine." I replied shortly.

After defeating the Demon King and saving the world, we've all returned back to the kingdom.

The kingdom rewarded us all handsomely. They gave us all the things we've never thought we would be able to have.

After about a year, the party disbanded and we went out on our different paths. Naganuma and Tsugawa married each other and went around the world for their honeymoon, while Kanegawa established the Magical Academy and became the principal of the said Academy.

And lastly, me. I went to the village nearest to the kingdom's border and lived there in incognito.

Well, truth to be told, that curse is something I made up. Well, half of it.

The curse came from the mask I am always wearing. This mask not only prevents other people to know me, it also hides my true status, preventing any enemy to know my weaknesses.

Although, I don't really have anything that can be called a weakness.

I put my level to 1 just for fun. I don't have any exact reason. Well, my current level is way higher, way way higher.

How high? 799. That's right, I am currently at level 799 much stronger than the Demon King, and the other heroes.

Well, my level before we've defeated the Demon King is at 798. Yep, the Demon King only provided me a single level, while the other heroes received about 10 or 20 levels, I only received one.

Well, enough explaining.

'This should be enough.' I told myself as I pack some necessities in a bag before putting it in my spatial storage.

"Erin, I'll go back to the capital." I said as I went downstairs.

"Eh?! B-But..." Erin said in surprise.

"Don't worry, I'll always send you letters." I said as I pat her head.

"Do you promise to send me letters Sei?" Erin asked with tears forming underneath her eyes.

"Yes, I promise. I will always send you letters." I said as I hugged.

"W-Well... Take care, Sei..." Erin bid goodbye.

I then left the village. After having some considerable amount of distance, I activated my stealth and ran fast as if I am one with the wind.

After running for about an hour, I have arrived near the capital's gate.

I then stopped running and walked towards the enormous gate.

"Halt! Show you identification card!" The guard stopped me and eyed me from head to toe.

Well, I wasn't wearing my equipment except the mask at the moment so it is normal for him to not recognize me.

"Here." I said as I flashed the card in front of him.

"I-I'm sorry for my rudeness!!!" The guard shouted as he kneeled down with his head pressed on the ground.

"Doesn't matter." I said as I entered the gate.

Behind the gate was a mashup of western and japanese establishments. I even felt slightly nostalgic.

'Hm... I guess I should visit Kaede for now.' I thought.

I then walked towards the direction of the Magical Academy.

While walking, two suspicious person walked near my back while openly giving off bloodlust.

"[Shadow Slash]" I whispered.

After the chant, the two people's head rolled on the ground with blood spurting out of their neck like a bloody fountain.

"[Blending Steps]" I followed up as I immediately blended with the crowd and continued to walk away.

After a few minutes or so, I have arrived in front of the academy's gate.

"What business do you have here in the Magical Academy?" The buffed guy guarding the gates asked me.

"Tell this to Kanegawa Kaede, Sei is here." I instructed.

"No need. I am here" A familiar voice said.

Seeing Kaede, the guard immediately opened the huge gate.

"Sei, you're finally back... Welcome back..." Kaede said as she walked up to me and hugged me.

"Mhm. I'm back" I replied as I hugged her as well.

"A year ago, when I told you my feelings, you said that you cannot accept it yet... But now, I'll ask you once again... Can you please be my lover?" Kaede asked.

"Yes." I said as I tightened my hug.

While hugging her, I could feel her breathing near my neck, and her heart is crazily beating as well.

"I... I'll show you something." I said as I stepped back a few steps and readied to remove my mask.

"A-Are you finally letting me see your face?" Kaede asked with her eyes in tears.

"Yes. And also... The truth." I said as I removed the mask.

As she saw my face, she seemed to be amazed by my looks. But after checking my level, she was surprised even more

"Sei, you are at level 799? H-How?" Kaede asked while rubbing her eyes and checking me again and again.

"Well... I was only hiding my level before since the enemies might prepare for me. But now, I think I should show it to you." I answered.

"B-But, even after a year has passed, I have only reached 200. T-Then there's you, who is multiple times stronger than me... Just how is this possible?" Kaede asked once again.

"It is because of the Goddess's blessing. [Infinte Growth]" i replied once again.
