Feeling displeased with his words, Qi Mingyue stopped the movements of his hand, tightly squeezed the strands of hair, and asked, "What do you mean?"

Qi Xutian's eyes swept his clenched fist and his lips curved into a smile, "She is not the daughter of an official. I let her ascend to that post, one reason is to balance the situation in the palace and the other is to avoid people's eyes and ears."

"Avoiding people's eyes and ears? As the Empress, how can she avoid people's eyes and ears? What ears and ears do you want to avoid? First Consort Hua, then Empress Jiang Yao." He paused before continuing, "From this matter, it seems that Father didn't tell me many things." Qi Mingyue released his hold on the long strands of hair, lowered his eyes, and said lightly, "Father doesn't seem to trust me completely." He had to say that his Father's past, as well as the thoughts hidden in his heart, made him anxious; he wanted to know, wanted to know everything that Father would never let others know, so he could confirm that he was indeed acknowledged by Father and could share everything with him.

Qi Xutian was not angry or panicked when he heard his words, instead, he looked at him with a smile and explained, "Jiang Yao is the actual controller of a mysterious organization outside the palace. The organization is named 'Obsidian Night' which is for the purpose of settling grudges and taking revenge on others. Because of her feats and proving accurate information, she was known by the people of Jianghu as 'Demon of the Night'. She was originally a helper found by me in Jianghu in the early years. After I took the throne, she stayed behind in Jianghu. She specialized in intelligence and formed a new organization, which still works for me but, after all, her actions attracted a lot of attention. What she did easily attracted trouble and offended others, so she abandoned the original headquarters and asked to stay in the palace. The rest of the people still operate under her command."

"I gave such a detailed explanation, are you satisfied?" Qi Xutian raised his small face. "You aren't happy because I said she's my person?"

"I heard consort mother say that you demoted Feng Zhaoyi and Wang Meiren... I don't know why?" Upon not hearing an answer, Qi Mingyue looked at him.

Qi Xutian looked into his eyes deeply, "MingEr doesn't know how much I wanted to kill Jiang Yao when she was about to touch you." Qi Xutian said it casually but Qi Mingyue understood from his eyes that he would indeed do such a thing.

"Even if she is still useful to you?"

"Useful or useless, it's just a thought." Qi Xutian replied lightly.

"What about me? To you, what does my existence represent? Why did you demote those concubines because of my praise? Why did you want to kill the Empress for me?" Even though he asked this, the answer was ready in his heart. He looked at Qi Xutian with a burning gaze.

"Why do you still ask when you already know?" Qi Xutian, with an uninhibited smile, sat up lazily. His long hair draped over half of his honey-coloured body. With a sense of an unintentional erotic temptation, he reached out to slowly caress the fair-skinned chest of the young man, "I can't bear to see you close to others, even if it's just touching your body, you can only belong to me." His hand moved downwards, from his delicate neck to his clavicle until finally, he reached the two coral nipples on his chest, "Whether it's your body or heart, even a strand of your hair or a fraction of your skin, I want all of it. What I want from you, can you understand?"

Stroking his fingers over his body, Qi Mingyue looked at the man beside him, "Is Father asking for my love?"

"Are you willing?"

"What about Father? You only belong to me and no longer to anyone else?" He raised his thin lips mockingly and chuckled, "You don't need to suffer. As an Emperor, why should you focus on a single person? I neither have such extravagant expectations nor do I make such a request."
