Chapter2: Can't help

After the dinner everyone went back to their home.

Minji's POV

On the way back home everyone just stay silent, none of us speak anything specifically me as I am busy thinking about what happened earlier.

10 minutes has passed and we arrived home, just don't want to waste time I quickly jumped off the car and walked in the house, planning to go to my bedroom but then someone stop me.

"We have things to talk, Minji" my dad said as he want us to show up in the living room for a family meeting.

I honestly don't don't want to talk as I felt betray by them. So, is this the reason why we come back to Korea out of the blue? I don't understand them at all. Do they really see marriage as a business? This sound like selling you own daughter out to someone, especially to stranger. I'm quite disappointed with them.

So, even if I don't want to show up in the family meeting, more or less I still need to be there, to show respect to them as my parent, that's all, no order reasons.

-Living room-

"Don't just stand, sit!" dad said as soon as I stand in front of them, so I decided to sit next to my sister while my brother sit facing me next to mom.

"So, what is the thing that you want to tell me? I don't have time right now" I said as soon as I sit down

"Watch your language, honey" mom said to me

"Sorry mom, but I'm not in mood" I replied to her. Yes, I'm not in the mood. Did I mention you that I clearly know, this family meeting is nothing other than 'THAT MARRIAGE' thingy.

"Enough, Minji! listen to me carefully. You have to marry one of Mr. Choi's son" my dad said in a serious voice. I could see my siblings was shocked when they hear it.

Their face show me clearly 'I don't know about this too' 'really?' 'what to do now?' 'how can we help you?'

"Marry!!!" I repeated my dad and continued my words
"Dad, I don't want to get married. You know about it right, you can't force your own daughter just like that" I said and looked at mom with a face asking for help

"You have no choice" dad shortly replied back

"Please dad, I'm not ready yet. I'm young as you can see. Besides, I want to continue my education and follow my dream. I begging you dad and mom please cancel the wedding" I said. Look like dad won't listen to me so I walk to mom

"mom please say something, help me please mom" I said as I faced my mom. I can see my siblings feel sorry for me.

"Sorry, honey but you have no choice. The wedding will be held in the first week of next month. You still have time" mom said with a sad face.

Are you kidding me? First week of next month? Only 3 weeks left and you said 'I STILL HAVE TIME'? what sin I committed in my last life to receive such a helpless situation like this.

"What? She has only 3 weeks to prepare, that's unfair for her. Dad, you always plan her future such as her college, her job and else, but now you just force her to marry someone who just met an hour ago! How could you? Don't you somehow overdone to her?" Minhyuk, my brother is trying to help me

"Yeah, dad. This is in real life dad! not a novel. You can't ask sister to marry stranger. She always mention that she won't marry anyone. Please dad, you need to understand her"

"I'm your dad and this is my word, you should listen to me and I don't take 'no' as an answer. Also you, kids don't have to try to help her." he again said in the serious voice.
