Luckily only the Doctor, Jack, Gwen and Amy seemed to have breathed it in. The Doctor smelt the gas and everyone saw the colour quickly drain from his face. "Doctor? What is it?" Jack asked worriedly. "River whatever you do don't breath in any of the gas!!" He called out to her. She nodded and quickly held her breath.

"Amy, Rory, take River into the TARDIS and don't let her come out until all the smoke is gone!" He ordered them between coughs. They stood still for a minute looking at him in confusion until he shouted "GO!" And they quickly rushed River into the TARDIS, much to her protesting and struggling they managed to get her into the TARIDS and the TARDIS, sensing the doctors wishes, locked the doors.

"Tosh!" Jack shouted to her and before he could ask her to do something she replied, "Already on it". Coughing as she typed away at the computer for a few seconds, she got some fans to start working and the gas got sucked up into the vents. They continued coughing for a minute until they got it out of their systems and could finally breathe normally again and Jack turned towards the Doctor.

"Doctor, what the hell was that?!" He asked him. The doctor looked up at Jack and took his hands off his knees from where he was bent over and stood up straighter. "Gas." He told him, plainly. Jack looked at him expectantly and was about to ask him 'what gas?' Before Owen beat him to it. "Yeah we know that!" He yelled at him grumpily, "But what was in the bloody gas?! It could have been poison for all we know!" "And where did it even come from?" Gwen added curiously as she looked down at the now empty canister of smoke.

"It was Rassilon's Disease." The Doctor answered. "And don't worry it can't harm you. It's just like breathing in some foggy air for you lot. And I don't know where it came from." He picked up the canister and looked at the familiar circular writing on it. "But I have an idea who put it there" he mumbled to himself, not loudly enough for anyone to hear him. He looked up at Jack and the others.

"Wait. What do you mean 'you lot'?" Gwen asked him. "You said that as if your not one of us?" She raised an eye brow at him. "I have a space ship. Of course I'm not one of you!" He told her. They all looked shocked. And Owen just a little skeptical. "But... You look human?" Gwen asked. "Well I do my best." He added with a smile and a large cough. "Why would anyone use harmless gas if they wanted to get to us?" Ianto asked no one in particular.

"Because they didn't want to get to you." The doctor said and leant against the metal bar next to him, feeling a bit light headed. "And it's not harmless." he added. "But you just said-" Gwen started but the Doctor cut her off, "I said it wasn't-" He too a big gulp as beads of sweat started to form on his forehead. "-It wasn't harmless to humans." Suddenly deciding that maybe sitting on the floor was a better idea than standing, the doctor slowly sunk to the floor, hoping that it would stop the room from spinning. Unfortunately, it didn't.

River burst out of the TARIDS doors with Amy and Rory following close behind as they ran up to the group. "What's wrong? What was in the gas?!" River asked frantically when she saw the Doctor sitting on the floor, beads of sweat forming on the forehead of his now pale face. "Rassilon's Disease..." The Doctor breathed out as he looked up to see his friends' worried faces.

Everyone looked to River who's blood had slowly drained from her beautiful face as well, she swore under her breath. "What's that? I've never heard of it!" Owen exclaimed. Feeling a little like he ( along with everyone else ) was being a bit left out of the picture. "It's a Time lord disease" explained River. "A time what?!" Asked Owen annoyedly. "Time lord." Said Jack.

"It's what the Doctor is, and he's the last one in exsistance." He explained to his confused team. "So how do you know what it is?" Jack asked with a raised eyebrow at River. "Because she's part Time lord." Said Amy before River got the chance. "What?!" Jack asked. Shock written all over his face "Really?!" He stammered.

"Yup" Rory confirmed, popping the 'P', his eyes still trained on the doctor. "Okay" Jack said getting a hold of himself and putting the questions away in the back of his mind for later. Right now they needed to deal with the Doctor.

"So what's Rassilon's disease?" Inquired Jack. River was about to answer when someone beat her to it. "A very deadly disease" came a sickeningly happy voice. They all turned to see a man standing next to the Doctor, who currently looked like he was about to faint form the mere act of breathing ( or very quiet wheezing in his case ).

The man was wearing a similar outfit to the doctor, with a few differences, and he was a bit fatter ( not by much though ). He had a rounder face, he was a little shorter and he had less hair and looked a bit older. "But-" Amy started. But couldn't quite form a sentence. River almost growled when she saw the man standing over the Doctor. Her Doctor.

"Who are you?!" Jack barked and raised his gun at the man. The others doing the same. The man merely smiled and said "Some know me as the dream lord," he directed this more to Amy and Rory than the others "But he-" he pointed towards the Doctor, who barely looked like he was able to stay conscious at this point "-knows me as the Valeyard." His words almost dripping with wickedness.

The Doctor made a small mumbling noise that sounded like he was trying to speak and the Valeyard gave him a pitying look before continuing. "And you know what's great about this particular disease?" He asked happily, ignoring the looks he was getting from the group and continuing on with his gleeful bantering. The others merely stared at him and he just smiled even wider and bent down next to the Doctor.

"One of the many symptoms is the lack of control over speech and movement!" He said with utter glee and directed the last part to the Doctor who was looking up at him, although he was struggling to even keep his eyes open. "Which means it acts sort of like truth serum. You can ask him anything at all and he'll probably tell you!" He stood up and waved his hands in the air in a sort of shrug.

"Hell, he might even tell you his name if he's high enough." Jack looked at him and just about snarled. He made a low gruff noise and glared at him. Pure hatred seeping through him. He clicked back on the gun and pulled the trigger, sending a small bullet towards the man. But the bullet merely passed through him and hit a table behind him.

Jack and the others looked a little shocked and confused but then it just made Jack even angrier. The Valeyard bent down next to the doctor again and waved his hand at him. "Too-da-loo!" He said cheerfully before he suddenly disappeared and the Doctor's head rolled forward as he lost consciousness.
