Chapter 3: Interest

"Wake up! Wake up!" My crow shouted outside my bedroom window

I rubbed my eyes and opened the window slowly, being cautious of the bird

"Why do you have to wake me up?" I said, still half asleep.

"Oyakata-sama has a meeting with the pillars!" The crow said louder, almost bursting my eardrms,

I got of bed and changed, I started walking towards the meeting, there was already a few pillars there

"Ohayo Y/N-san~" Mitsuri gave me a tight hug and I hugged back

"Ohayo, Mitsuri-chan~" I smiled at her

"Ohayo!" Rengoku gave both of us a high five

"Ohayo, Rengoku-kun" I laughed and returned his high five

The three of us was just chit chatting when finally someone spoke out

"Oyakata-sama has arrived!"

All the pillars then bowed down in the presence of our Lord. He was the leader of the Demon Slayer Corps. He assigned missions to us, when there are Demons on the run.

"Goodmorning to all of you, as you all know there is some demons on the run, and we cannot wait any further to go, due to people getting missing."

We all nodded

"And i'm assigning two people to go out and kill the demons who are responsible for this."

"And it's Y/N and Rengoku."

My head perked up, and Rengoku quickly glanced over to me giving me a closed eyes smile.

I gave him a soft smile back and Oyakata-sama quickly cleared his throat.

"Y/N and Rengoku, would you take the oppurtunity and agree to this mission?"

"Hai!" The two of us answered at the same time

"Ok that's all for today's meeting. Goodluck to the both of you." He said before leaving and the door closes behind him

As soon Oyakata-sama left the pillars immediately started talking about stuff, once again.

I immediately ran and hugged Rengoku, it was my first time having a mission with him and I was pretty excited

Mitsuri then joined our group hug and the three of us immediately started tackling each other to the ground

Once Mitsuri pulled away, Rengoku and I were still tackling each other

"Ship~" The other pillars teased us, while the others wiggled their eyebrows at us

We both pulled away quickly and fixed ourselves

"You all are getting this wrong, we are just best friends." Rengoku said shaking his hands at the pillars.

"Are you sure~" Sanemi teased us as he poked Rengoku's sides

"We're just best friends! I swear!" Rengoku said as he swats Sanemi's hands away

"You guys would make a good couple~" Shinobu teased us, as her arm was wrapped around Giyuu's arm.

I rolled my eyes secretly.

Giyuu doesn't seem to be bothered to have Shinobu's arm around his, but he looks very pissed off.

"I'm sorry, but you all are getting this wrong Y/N and I are only frien-"

"Leave them alone." A cold tone came from across the other side of the pillars.

My eyes immediately darted to the voice, that made my eyes go wide.

"Y/N and Rengoku-kun has cleared up that they are only best friends. So quit the teasing." Giyuu stood there, his eyes were cold

Shinobu's arm was still wrapped around Giyuu's arm. But Giyuu harsly ripped her hand off, and grabbed my arm and pulled me somewhere, leaving the rest of the pillars alone.

"Giyuu! Let go!" I was being harshly pulled into the woods.

We finally stopped upon the rivers, and he let go of my arm.

"Come sit.." He said calming down, removing his shoes sitting by the rocks

I sat down by the rocks

"Why did you bring me at our secret place?"

"Sorry, I was just pissed earlier."

"Why? Was there something wrong?"

"Do you.. Have interest.. On Rengoku-kun?" He asked out of nowhere

I looked at him dead in the eye

"No. As I said, we're only bestfriends. Why?"

"Nothing.." He said, his feet was against the water of the river.

"..Oh ok." I simply answered letting my feet grazing upon against the rocks.

I didn't want to jump to conclusions.. I didn't want to assume he was jealous because he was interested.

Maybe he was just looking out for a friend. Yea maybe he was..

"Giyuu?"

"..Yes Y/N?"

"Do you like anyone?"

"Yeah, why?" His cheeks turned light pink, and he looked at me

"Oh.. Just asking.." I said looking down.

It was pretty obvious that he likes Shinobu-san. I mean, who was I kidding-

I was immediately cut off from my thoughts, as I felt his arm around my shoulder and I melted in his touch.

I smiled at him.

"Let's stay for a while~" I said blushing slightly

"Sure. Let's just go back later." He said his arm never leaving my shoulder.

I hummed

"Hey Giyuu.."

"Y/N?"

"I'm glad you're my friend." I smiled at him, my cheeks heating up.

"I'm happy that I met you~" He said looking at me, a genuine smile on face

I'm glad I met someone like him.

I wish I could've told my feelings then and there.

Who am I kidding tho?

Our friendship would be ruined..
