A whole week had gone by with still no word from my mom dukes, and I was really starting to become concerned.
We were just cooling with each other the previous weekend @ THE CAPITAL ONE ARENA, which was located in downtown Washington, D.C. We were there 4 the all-star weekend activities, and I must admit, it was lit.

"I'm going to stop pass the house, and see you later," I had told her. That was how things usually went, so there was no reason for me to think that today was going to be any different.
"Try not 2 come by 2 late, you know how you be," Pearl had teased her only child.
Then they went their separate ways. She walked up 7th Street, and I made my way towards the Gallery Place-Chinatown metro station. We had made this journey together over 100 times before, so why would I began to think that today would be any different.
I never did hear from my mother again, that one weird day. She wasn't answering her phone, and she wasn't responding 2 the many text messages I sent her as well. Today was Friday, September 13th, 3 days had gone by, and I was wondering why I still haven't heard from my mother.
Shit's crazy, I do know that much is true. This was just so unlike Pearl; 2 pull a disappearing act like this.
4 the remainder of the day, it seemed as if that's all that occupied my mind. What was I 2 think. This is my beloved mother I'm talking about. I probably wouldn't be able to rest until I saw her angelic face again. I just couldn't get rid of the thoughts that were entering my mind, like I was trapped inside a bad dream.

I was starting 2 receive a dark cloud over me, due 2 the events of the day. The day was a complete disaster, and the only way I could receive any closure, and try to make some good come out of it was by finding my mother Pearl.
