Ty's view
--------
A week crawled by, my boring life felt like I had done nothing to stop what Baylee had created. A wall. A big blinding wall that crashed into the middle of our relationship. Well, what relationship I thought we had. That did not mean that I was giving up per say, but it did put a damper on my feelings. My wolf even whined in slight agreement.
"Hey, earth to Ty! You listening to what I just said??" Carson repeated.
I moved my head sideways and blinked. "What did you say?"
"Oh for god's sake, quit scanning the lunch room for Baylee and listen up!"
I sighed and turned my undivided attention to Carson. He looked exasperated. I smiled slightly at the expression on his face.
"Now what were you saying?" I replied sarcastically. I was greeted by an eye roll.
"As I was saying," he stated again. "I know the perfect idea so that you can get a chance to talk to her. She's been ignoring your texts hasn't she?"
I nodded. " She knows it's me. There is no hiding it."
"Well... I did make it painfully obvious. Anyways, back on track. I know my partner for this long English project is Mikayla. That's Baylee's best friend, right? Well, we four could work on it together!"
"Is that even allowed?" I asked exasperated. I leaned my head back against the cold table and sighed. It was inevitable. Baylee did not want me near her. It was obvious.
"If we pick the same book on the list, and each do our work, no one will know. Unless, you have someone in the group mention the idea to our teacher. But, I know that most of us wouldn't do that, now would we?" Carson continued. "As for everything else, just let me handle the details. Mikayla will have my back. "
"And how do you know for sure Mikayla will cooperate with you?"
He smiled. "I've been texting her for a while."
"Whatever you say." I sighed. I took in a deep breath and closed my eyes. I felt my insides churn as a familiar tug on my soul switched on. Baylee was near by. I could tell she was close enough to be in the lunchroom a few tables down.
My wolf wined and tried to forcibly make me move towards her. Not yet! I internally yelled at him. You know perfectly well she does not want our presence around. Just give her some space. We hardly know her and she hardly knows us. She backed off for a reason.
Carson nudged his elbow into me. "Why don't you at least say hi to her. "
"No."
"But shes right next to you."
I jumped up in alarm and my eyes darted around. "Wait! What? She is?!"
I looked over to catch Baylee on the table behind us, her eyes quietly scanning the room then settled back to the food she was eating. She was alone for the time being, and I saw an opportune moment to go say hi. Even though, I just said moments ago that I was not going to do anything.
I smiled and jumped out of my seat slowly moving towards Baylee. I caught myself unaware due to Carson's small outburst. I ceased moving as I stood right behind her. My whole body tingled with a sensation that only brought me closer to her.
Baylee swung around , fully aware of the fact that I was right behind her. "What do you want?"
"I just wanted to say Hi, Baylee," I coughed out.
Her eyes glared suspiciously, but her face softened for a short moment. "Hi, Ty."
I smiled. "Well..." I paused. "I hope your day is good."
