I force myself to look away, and I lead her to the roof.
"We will travel by rooftop" I tell her.
One of the things I learned in the military academy was that most criminals use the crowded streets to get away from cops. So I figured that if I was thought that, surely the cops that are looking for us were.
As soon as I say that, she is at least two roofs ahead of me. I shake my head and smile as I realize I rescued a fellow criminal.
Once I catch up with her she laughs
" I didn't think you would be this quick, I'm impressed."
"And to think I rescued a helpless, little girl," I shoot back.
"I had it under control back there, but thank you" she says.
I feel myself blush, then i pick up the pace.
"Let's stop and eat," I say after about two hours.
"Sounds good to me" she says.
We find an outside bistro and sneak into the back. We grab a couple of steaks and a sack full of bread. We find an abandoned high rise and sit down. I ask her what her name is while she is pulling the food out of the sack.
She looks at me. "The name's sky."
I turn to look at her and she blushes and looks away. What happens next, I can't control.
She looks back at me with those beautiful eyes and I just can't help it. I put my hand on her neck and kiss her. She pulls away.
"I'm sorry, I..." I can't finish.
She brings her face back to mine and claims my lips. We're both sitting there, kissing, for what seems like a century. I pull away, even though I don't want it to end.
" Eat up," I say, "we still have a long road ahead of us."
