You can say im just your average 16 year old. I go to an average school, and have average family and friends. Though I have been fighting Leukaemia since I was 3 years old. And I guess it's a celebration I'm still alive, I mean I love life and all but I'm exhausted. I'm exhausted of treatments and people feeling bad and not being treated like a normal teenager. I just want to be a normal human that can do want they please with out their mum telling them 'put a coat on!' or 'are you feeling okay?' constantly.

I wake up to my phone ringing and I already know it's Rory aka Aurora my best friend since I was first diagnosed. I met rory when I was about 3 in the hospital, I was in my bed and she was wondering around with her mum and I guess the friendship just clicked, like friendship at first sight.

After I get off the phone to rory mum comes up to my room with little brother to bring me breakfast. " Yum eggs on toast, thanks Bryce." I say with energy and motivation. I start to eat my toast and while speaking with mum. "Hey mum do you know where my blue jeans are?"

"Yea your second drawer." she says pointing at my closet. "I'll grab the for you. What shirt would you like?" She says while she grabs my jeans.

"Umm...my white cropped jumper please ohh and can you grab a pair of my white socks please mumma." I reply with a smile on my face.

"Ok anything else hunni? How are you feeling this morning?" She concernly replies.

"No thanks. And I feel really good today just a bit of a sore throat that's all." I say as I finish up my breakfast.

"Ok well there will be your banana smoothie with your medication down stairs when your ready for school." She says as she gets my brother and heads down stairs.

You never know how much you appreciate someone until there always there for you 24/7 literally. In primary school she would attend school with me because she was that worried about me, though we have a deal I'll take my medication and go to every appointment only if I can go to school, I love to learn and socialise with others.

I get dress in my clothes and put on my white converse high tops then rush to the bathroom to chuck on a light cover of make up with a bit of mascara, then chuck my wavy chestnut brown hair in a quick basic french braid with a white scrunchie to tie my hair up. I check the time and realise it's 7:30am already and we still have to get my bag packed and pick up rory.

"MUM IS MY SCHOOL BAG DOWN THERE?!" I yell out to mum.

"Yes Adalyn and it's packed!" She replied.

I grab my math textbook that was on my desk as well as my laptop, the quickly grabbing my phone and head phones then running down the stairs to take my tablets and grab my smoothie. When I looked at the time it was 7:45am. "Mumma can we leave for school please we still got to pick up rory?" I ask politely.

"Yes Adalyn, Bryce is just grabbing his bag for preschool, you may get in the car though." Mum replied.

I help Bryce up into his car seat and buckle him in and do up my seat belt. Rory only lives a few blocks away from us so we've taken her to school since we started school together, because her parents are high class lawyers and their always busy. So she spends most of her time at my house wit us.

I miss my dad, his my best friend. Though his not here right now because like rorys parents my dad is a really important lawyer, so he had to go on a major business trip that can earn him a promotion which could mean more time at home to spend with us, which would mean everything to mum.

We arrive at rorys house and she is sitting on here balcony reading 'in 27 days' mum sounds the horn and it's like rory jumps 2 feet in the air. I sit in the car laughing at her. She climbs up next to me in the car and I give her the biggest hug ever and lay my head on her shoulder as she continues to read.

"Good morning my second family." Rory says so bubbly.

We all reply with a joyful good morning.

We arrive at school and walk through the gates with our arms linked, and huge smile on our faces from ear to ear. As we giggle the whole way to our lockers through the packed hallway, I get my text book knocked out of my hands. I bend down to pick it back up and bump into a new mysteries guy that I've never seen before.

"I believe this is yours miss." He says as he hands me my book.

"Umm... sorry and thanks." I reply as I turn to face the other way bitting my bottom lip and smiling, then I continue to walk to my first class.
