Eddie
"So, you like Richie," Stan stated, staring into my eyes. His face was resting and looked almost bored.
"W-What? Yeah right," I glanced nervously around the Lanky tree's the branches hugging the sky, letting barely any light in, a green hue covering all the people timer and shrubs.
Stan rolled his eyes; a signature Stan move, "So you do. Are you going to tell him?"
My heart raced. My breathing soon turned into wheezing and next became choking. I puffed my inhaler. If anyone found out- Richie- Richie would hate me. In our time I would be shunned, Mommy would hate me.
"I-I don't- Er-I-I well..." I stammered, "I sound like Bill,"
For the first time in the conversation, his expression changed and his face was flushed with salmon. Stan had a crush on Bill, and even Bill's name being mentioned brought crimson tinge.
"Whatever," He mumbled, "Let's meet the group."
We walked through the tall grass. It was cut, untouched, reaching up out knees. Springtime did that. In spring the grasses grew uncontrollably, until winter, when the frost killed them, only for the lone survivors to flourish once more in the returning spring.
"Eddie Spegehhti!" I heard Richie cry, and before I knew it he was thrust onto to, playing with my hair, "Cute cute cute!"
"Shut up dickface," I called, shoving his face away. My hand tingled just from touching him, and I scolded myself for thinking about him like that.
He grinned at me, adjusting his glasses and shot me a wink. I felt my face get hot. I hated how he made me feel. It wasn't right. It was wrong.
"Fuck you," I growled, trying not to smile. Richie's mere presence gave me chills and a giddy feeling.
"Aye Bev, you got a cigarette?" Richie asked. His eye's sparked in the mossy-colored light.
"Sure," She tossed a pack at him. She ruffled her pumpkin hair and puffed out some smoke, "You know, summer's almost here," She leaned over to Ben and kissed his cheek, leading to a blushing Ben.
"Yeah," Bill chimed, walking over. He straightened his flannel collar, "Wanna go to the quarry tomorrow?" I looked at Stan and grinned. He glared at me, but I could tell he was more focused on Bill, because of his reddened face.
"Fuck yeah," Richie said, taking a long drag. The rest of the loser chimed in as well as me.
Richie puffed out a perfect smoke ring, "Did you guys see that! Boom! Bev! See I did it!"
"Nice one trash mouth," Beverly said, smiling. She looked pretty in the light. Yeah! She did. Maybe I liked Bev, not Rich, I mean would I kiss her? No. But she looked nice. Would I like her actually, well no, not at all I mean-
My thoughts were abruptly interrupted by Mike, "So right after school, were meeting, right?"
*Time skip hehe*
The bell rang and I stumbled through the crowded hallways. It made me uncomfortable. The strangers pressed against me, all of us struggling to reach the outside.
As soon as I got outside I spotted the gang. Everyone had their bikes, and Richie was propping up mine.
"Hey Rich, why is my bike unlocked," I asked, slightly agitated.
"Oh Ed's, your passcode is easy, 1234," He smirked.
"Whatever. So is yours!" I protested, "6969!"
"Whatever," He said, "Let's go."

The quarry loomed in front of us, a deep cavity, begging to be leaped into. The murky water made it
Everyone stripped to their underwear, and we all stood on the edge, peering over the deep edge.
"So, who wants to jump first?" Mike asks, looking at everyone.
"Um, Bev?"
"No fucking way," She says.
"You know we probably shouldn't even jump. I could be dangerous. Ther could be rock or a submerged shopping cart. One move and we could be paralyzed for life. We could die. Don't let's just go. It's dangerous and my mom would kill me if I died and I just-"
"Pussies," Richie yelled, plummeting himself into the murky depths.
"Fuck yeah," He yelled, his thin frame tumbling into he reached the water and disappeared.
"Rich?" I asked quietly, feeling nauseated. What if there was a rock, maybe it hit Richie's neck, Crack, dead. Richie. Dead. All of the losers peered over, and to everyone's relief, Richie emerged, "Come on!" He called.
One by one all of us jumped over the edge, smile, and laughing, taking in the surroundings. It felt free, it reminded me of the summer times, that was almost here. Just one more week, that seemed so far away.
My body hit the water. The quarry was chilling and shocking but was a familiar feel and made me more gleeful.
We swam way over to the other side of the quarry, to the shallow end. My arms were sore from splashing and I was tired by the end, and I regretted leaving my inhaler with my clothes. My breath staggered a bit.
"Well, that was not fun," Mike muttered.
"No shit," Ben said
"I'm bored," Richie chided, splashing Stan
"Shut up,"
Unmemorable chatter went on for about 30 minutes, until Beverly asked, "Who wants to play truth or dare."
Authors note: Hey! It's me! Um, this chapter is kind of short, but it's sort of an intro, so yeah. Thanks for reading. I will be updating probably about once a week! Bye!
