Truthfully.. It's..! (Meliodas X Elizabeth Para-highschool AU)

Secret?

Meliodas walked into the classroom, yawning. It was his first day back in a while and he ended up late.. though today, he was going to tell his love his feelings for her. He took a seat, and the lessons started... with math. His least favorite subject. "Oh great.." Meliodas sighed, rubbing his forehead.

"And that concludes the math lesson for today- be sure to research the topic we're learning, as it's algebra!" The teacher yelled, clearing his throat. "Damnnn.. I don't want to learn about this algebra shit!" Ban groaned, running his hands through his spiky silver hair. "Yeah yeah, we'll get it over with eventually!" Diane chided, running around the classroom as the bell was about to ring. The silent silver haired girl sat in the front row, packing up her things neatly. "It's easy.. if you study hard enough." Was all she commented, and left the room without a fuss. "Oi oi.. Captain- ain't she the girl you're in love with?~" Ban laughed, placing his hands on his hips.

"Ooohhh Meliodas~ Of course I'll accept your confession!~" Ban mimicked, making Diane and King laugh. "Anyway, I'll be heading over to my other class, see ya at lunch, Captain!" Diane and King said in unison, heading out of the nearly empty classroom. "C'mon man, confess like.. later today! I'm sure it'll go well, cause who'd turn down the captain?" Ban grinned, forcing a silly smile. "Yeah yeah.." the blonde sighed, slinging his bag over his left shoulder and heading out the classroom.. only to be stopped by the teacher shortly after.

"Meliodas, it seems that Elizabeth forgot a little thing on her desk, I don't know exactly what it is.. but do you mind bringing it to her? I heard you two have the second class together too." The teacher sighed, rubbing the back of his head.

They had around 10 minutes of free time before every class, which most students used to go to the bathroom, or chat with their friends while heading to their class. Thankfully, Meliodas and Elizabeth both had the same class.. which was down the hallway from their math class. "Elizabeth, you here? You forgot this in the classroom.. Looks like.. well.. I don't know really- a doll eye?" He chuckled, opening the door, trying to find out where she could be. She was sitting there, calmly resting her head on her arm while reading a book about fiction. "Elizabeth?" Meliodas questioned, but she didn't reply.. so he just stuffed the doll eye in a small pocket in his bag. 'I'll give it to her later.' He thought, and took his seat.

The 10 minutes went by in a flash, and so did the class they had, which was English. "You better all hand in reports about your weekend, hear me?" The teacher cleared her throat and called out two students who were sleeping in the back. "Oh yeah.. It's Monday." Elizabeth's faint voice was heard- as they sat a few seats away from one another. The next period was a free one.. Lunch.

Elizabeth once again, packed her things up silently, but Meliodas stopped her as soon as one foot was out the door. "Elizabeth.. You forgot this in the math classroom." Meliodas admitted, happy that he caught her attention for even just a second. He pulled out the doll eye, and she quickly snatched it. "Thank you..!" She smiled, and rushed out of the room. "What was that about..?" He thought out-loud, leaving the classroom with questions in his mind.

Lunch came around, Meliodas and his group of friends hung around the cafeteria and chatted, same as always. "Sooo, Captain! When are you gonna ask her out?" King asked, and Meliodas's face went red. "I'll ask later tonight!" He yelled, though he felt a little confident in his ability to woo her, he was also afraid she'd shoot him down out of pure chance.

"Captain's got this in the bag, just watch~" Ban grinned, running his hands through his hair once more before taking a sip of his soda. "Yeah yeah. I'm sure he'll ace it." a pink haired man agreed, fixing his glasses. "What about you, Gowther? Anyone speeecial?~" Ban laughed, slapping his knee as he nearly coughed on his soda.

"I don't take an interest in anyone particularly from this school." Was all the man replied with, adjusting his glasses once more, as they seemed a little too big for his slender head. 'They keep egging me on, damn it. I'll show them! When Elizabeth finally decides to go out with me, I'll brag in all their faces.' Meliodas thought, grinning to himself. "Careful with grinning- or you might get a friend down there~" Ban butted in, cackling. "Jesus- stop with those kinds of jokes, Ban!" King's face was a bright shade of red now, the shorter male was hoping he didn't end up with a nosebleed in front of his girlfriend, Diane.

The last two classes passed by pretty quickly, as Meliodas shared woodwork with Ban and King, and shared P.E with Diane. And holy, that girl can run. The blonde fixed his bangs and headed up to their first classroom, where he knew she was studying in for the meantime.

"Hello-" he could barely make out a proper sentence before he stopped talking as he slid the door open.

There, slumped in the desk was a doll's body, and a ghost was hovering over, kicking her feet about happily in the air before turning to face whoever opened the door-

Meliodas stood there, silent. His face was pale as a ghost, and held his scream in. "You.. YOU SAW?!" She screamed, her face was a bright shade of crimson. "Wait!! Elizabeth, I won't tell anyone!" He struggled to say proper words, so it came out all jumbled up from his lips.

He couldn't believe his eyes.

The girl he likes is a ghost.

I wanted to make Elizabeth a ghost for a while, cause the dynamic of Meliodas being the possible only one that sees her, is pretty cool.
