*2088*

Earth was a place the human race inhabited; a place we have lived on for thousands and thousands of years. Never would anyone have thought the human race would evacuate the planet. Three years ago, country after country, civilians had no choice but to evacuate their homes. The Earth that the human race called home was no longer a place we could live on. The air that we breathed was now a toxic fume that was poisonous for us. According to the warning alerts, the air was toxic due to a science experiment gone wrong. Scientists were unable to do nothing to save the planet.

Countries were on high alert, as the toxic air swept from country to country. Other than the fact that the earth was starting to become uninhabitable, natural disasters destroyed parts of the world. Earthquakes. Tsunamis. Tornados. Hurricanes. Blizzards. Wildfires. And severe storms. Most countries have not yet experienced any natural disasters or have been commanded to evacuate. The only thing was, where are we supposed to go?

In the UK, we have not yet experienced natural disasters or been evacuated. Britain has never really been caught in earthquakes, hurricanes or a wildfires at all. I was twenty years old and still lived with my parents. I lived with my mother, Elle and my father, Mark in the capital of London. My mother was already thinking of evacuating, even though nothing has happened in the UK just yet. "Mum, calm down. We at least have a year or two before we have to evacuate." I sighed in frustration. "Hanna, if everybody in this country leaves now, we all have a chance of surviving. Don't you understand that?" Mum shouted. I closed my eyes, as I took in a deep breath. "Yes, I understand. But, you're not doing yourself any good by frustrating yourself over all of this. You need to calm down and just relax a little." I shrugged my shoulders.

"Yeah, you're right. You're right. I'm sorry. You're right." Mum sighed, as she relaxed her shoulders in a heap. "Honey. You may wanna come see this." Dad yelled at the top of his lungs. Mother and I exchanged confused glances, as we strolled into the living room. "What is it?" I questioned. Dad pointed with the tip of his finger at the screen of the television. I tuned in, as the reporter on the news was rambling about complete nonsense. Except, none of it was nonsense. It was a warning for civilians here in the UK.

"Most countries are now uninhabitable. For three years, countries have evacuated to other countries for survival. However, it seems that now all countries except England have evacuated. England is the country that needs to evacuate the planet immediately. Scientists have discovered a planet just like ours for us to live on. The human race will live on, but it is the end of the road for our earth." The reporter explained. "Oh my god. Oh my god. What are we supposed to do? I wanna leave, but then I don't want to. This is all to stressful. I'm gonna pack our things." Mum rambled, as she rushed out of the living room and up the set of stairs to begin packing all of our belongings.

I stared blankly at the television, as I tried to take it all in. This was no longer our home. A knock at the door startled me out of my thoughts. "FBI. Pack your things and come with us immediately." A ragged deep voice commanded. "I guess this is it. Come on, darling. Go pack your things." Dad commanded. I nodded in response, as I numbly walked upstairs to the bedroom I slept in and began to pack as much as I could. I gathered pretty much all of my clothes and a couple of pairs of shoes in a backpack, as I carried toiletries, plugs and chargers, a laptop and my phone in another.

I gazed around the bedroom I had grown up in, as I took a deep breath in and said, "Goodbye." I exited the room and walked down the set of stairs, as I met my parents and a few FBI agents at the door. "Got what you need?" Mum questioned. I nodded in response. I was speechless. I couldn't respond. I was in complete shock. We should've had at least two more years to evacuate, but that was not the case.

The FBI agents escorted us to a black van, which already had two other families in. I sat in silence, as I contemplated on what had just happened in the span of five minutes. Whatever this planet was that the human race would now be inhabiting, would be a place we could find new resources. Resources in most countries on earth had run out of food and water. I blinked out of my thoughts, as the van came to a halt. We were escorted out of the van and through a very cramped airport. Air crafts and shafts were occupied with people who would be travelling through space to a whole new planet. I was so not ready for this.

In almost a blink of an eye, I was strapped tightly in a chair on an air craft that was suitable to travel throughout space. "Here we go. Hold on tight." The captain commanded. I squeezed my eyes shut, as the air craft slowly crept off the concrete ground. I was too scared to open my eyes. Too scared to see what could possibly happen to us along the way. "Holly. Holly. Open your eyes, honey. This is too beautiful not to look at." Mum beamed, as I slowly opened my eyes. I gasped in awe, as I stared out of a nearby window. We were in space, I thought. The stars lit up the blank canvas with such beauty, I could not stop looking. I wasn't sure how long we had to travel for, but I couldn't care less, as all I wanted was to stay like this forever.

*4 hours later*

4 hours it took to travel to a new planet. 4 hours of all things beautiful. Space was full of magnificent things. We passed planets in our solar system that could possibly have a whole other race on it that we had no clue about. The aircraft carrier landed with a slight bump. "Here we are, passengers. Welcome to our new home." The captain announced. I unbuckled from the amount of straps I was in, as a door opened to reveal a rocky surface. I stepped out of the aircraft, as I gaped at the planet in awe.

Glass buildings occupied the stretch of land. The surface was rock from where I stood, but just inches away was a field of flowers and fresh grass. This is it. I was now in a place I would soon call home. A home I would grow to love.

Welcome the human race. Welcome to your new world. A new world with new beginnings.
