Third Person POV

When Drew opened the closet, what he saw was unexplainable.

He saw documents.

Not just any documents though, no. Death documents from the hospital. Case documents from the police station. All about the death of...

Laura.

Drew did not understand. Why did Danny keep this secret, when he knew that he'd be perfectly fine letting Danny stay and helping him cope. But also, what happened? He didn't have enough time to read what happened on the documents, but something terrible happened and Drew felt like a dick for not helping his best friend out after everything he did for Drew when Amanda left him.

Danny's POV

Oh no, no, no, no, no! He knows! He knows that Laura died! Jesus, how stupid does one have to be to do something that someone specifically told them not to do 5 minutes after they told them! I kept running though, running till im at the woods.

"Danny wait! We can talk about this!" Drew yelled from behind me.

I took a sharp turn and hid inside a bush.

"Danny, please. I'm sorry ok, its just we need to talk about this! I just want to help." Drew panted as he came in the woods. He looked and saw my sneakers. He moved the bush and hugged me. I hugged him back as I cried into his shoulder.

"Danny, its ok," Drew said multiple times patting my hazel brown hair. After I calmed down, I looked up at him, and started to explain.

BACKSTORY

"C'mon Laura, it'll be fun to get with the boys again! What'll go wrong?" Danny begged his wife Laura. A few of their friends were going to this club to hang out, and Danny really wanted to go as he hasn't seen them in forever, but Laura was a bit hesitant due to the fact that she hadn't really gotten a lot of sleep recently. But after a lot of begging from her husband, she just couldn't say no. Laura got her car keys out, but Danny quickly shooed them away. "Lets take the motorcycle instead." They were on there way to the club, zooming on the motorbike, black leather jackets on, covered with cool designs. Once they arrived, they greeted everyone and immediately ordered some drinks. They danced the night away, drinking a ton. Laura's not big about alcohol so she didn't have much, but Danny did to the point where he was tripping over his own feet on there way out. "Danny, let me drive." she slurred slightly. "Nah baby, I've got it in the bag!" He replied jumping on. "No Danny, you're drunk as fuck, you'll crash!" Laura argued. "I'll be fine. We only live what, like 20 seconds away? C'mon baby lets go." He said motioning her to sit. "No Danny, we're Ubering." Laura said. Danny rolled his eyes. "Fine..." as Laura took her phone out to call an Uber. They were on there way back home, when all of a sudden a car came and crashed right into the side Danny was on. Laura jumped over across the seat shielding him. They were rushed to the hospital, and when Danny gained consciousness again, he came to see Laura. He cried holding her hand, and only 2 days after the accident, she died. That day haunted Danny. He went to the police station almost every single day asking if they caught the guy that crashed the car. That killed his wife. That ruined his life. They never did, and probably never will...

"Oh my god Danny. Why did you never tell me?" Drew said. He was crying slightly.

"I didn't want you to worry about me just after what happened with Amanda!" Danny said choking on tears. Drew hugged him tightly. Danny sobbed into Drews chest

"I'll always be here for you Danny. Never, ever forget that." Drew said into Danny's hair. Danny nodded.

After a couple minutes, Drew picked up Danny and walked him back to the apartment so he could get some sleep. Drew only then realized, that there was some sort of feeling flickering inside of him, that he couldn't name. It felt familiar, but not that familiar that he could understand what it was. Little did he know, the exact same feeling was happening to Danny too at the exact same time...
