Michelangelo was walking the streets of Florence when he saw him. He couldn't believe his eyes. While he had sculpted so many masterpieces the real masterpiece was standing across the street from him. Leonardo da Vinci. While staring and studying Leo all Michelangelo could fathom was caressing his hands on his body, sculpting him, feeling him and gathering an understanding of his anatomy. He wished that he could be the paintbrush in Leonardo's hand so that he could be held by him. Little did Michelangelo know Leo had seen him too. His afflictions overwhelmed him like the smell of a cadaver. It was so strong he almost fainted. They both stood there staring deeply at each other not knowing they would become each other's muses.
Leonardo rushed back to his home so that he could display on canvas his newly discovered urges for Michelangelo. When he had finished his work he realized he couldn't reveal this portrait, because what if Michelangelo didn't feel the same overpowering tenderness. He quickly changed the name to Mona Lisa. While the public will think it's a portrait of his friend's wife, what it really is is his ode to his precious Mikey. He would sit at night staring at it and enjoying the pleasures mankind had offered to him. But yet, he still lays and wonders whether his dear Mikey truly loved him in the way he did.
But little did Leo know, Michelangelo was having the same afflictions of the flesh. He had been commissioned to sculpt a tomb statue for the Medicis, but all that pushed his artistic desires was Leo. He furiously began to sculpt. Imagining every intimate part of Leo, dreaming that what he was carving was in actuality the body of his one true love and muse. The passion that was going into this sculpture was unmatched. He had done the Sistine Chapel, the statue of David and numerous other works but this piece was not just any sculpture to Michel. It was his masterpiece, his devotion to Leo. Once he was finished he examined this pristine sculpture and had realized what he had done. While his love for Leo was ever growing, he needed this work to be for the tomb. He quickly sculpted to fit what he was commissioned to do. As he was sculpting he wept as he was destroying the most beautiful thing he had ever created. It came to the point where his emotions had grown so strong he couldn't continue and he left the left breast deformed. He went to his bedroom and mourned as he didn't know if Leo would ever love him.
The next day Leo ran into Mikey whilst roaming Florence and with the slightest touch a romance was ignited. They fell madly in love. From this moment nothing could break them and their passionate desires for one another apart. Their undying love continued to blossom with every brush stroke, every chisel, and every exploration of the human body. They began to realize they no longer needed to dissect and explore human cadavers because the only body they needed was laying right next to them. As the night went on and the passions grew higher the finally began to understand the function of the human heart. It wasn't what pumped their blood through their body, it was the mechanism that held and cultivated their love.
However, Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo sadly had to keep their undying tenderness for one another a secret. While this time was a rebirth of culture, art, science, and ideals, a relationship between two men was frowned upon in society. Leonardo wrote in his diary "I see him and my manly desires grow ever so fondly, but in public I must remain professional. Not being able to embrace Mikey in public as I do in the bedroom feels as if I am a cadaver having his heart ripped from his chest and cut open with a rusty scalpel for the whole town to see."
