The paramedics roll Beverley into the ER. The OB on call comes and checks her out. She is 5cm dilated. She says that she started having contractions right after they got notified of the terrorist attacks but she ignored them because she thought that they were Braxton hicks. She is moved into a room in the maternity ward.
About an hour later the OB checks her and she is still 5cm. She decides to ask for a phone so she calls her husband Tom. "Tom! Oh thank god, I finally got through. How are you? No, I'm fine Tom, we're fine. " She decided not to tell him about the baby and surprise him when she got home.
*24 hours later*
Beverly is only dilated 7cm so the OB decides to do a c-section. They wheel her back into the OR and 45 minutes later, she is back in her room with her baby boy in her arms. She gets ahold of a phone again and phones her husband. "I thought about naming him Gander because everyone here has been so nice during this time," she says. "I love it," he tells her. I'll see you when I get back to Dallas." then she hung up the phone and fell asleep with her son in her arms.
