Matt: Sikat at guwapo eh, anong magagawa natin..hahaha. Now what Ge, may pa-no turning back- no turning back ka pang nalalaman.

Gerald gazed up at Matt. His eyes flashed with a blazing flare of anger. Matt’s eyes widened, shrugging his shoulders.

“Do you still love Kim?” Fred asked. Gerald motioned his eyes to Fred then took a deep breath.

“I don’t know.  I care for her”, Gerald answered as he diverted his gaze downward, grabbing a piece of tiny stick then started drawing random shapes and figures.

“Do you still love Kim?”, Fred repeated earnestly.

Gerald took another deep breath as he said “I care for her. I don’t want her to get hurt. I don’t want her to be harmed”. His eyes were meeting Fred’s.

Pare, you already did..a long time ago. You are her first heartbreak”, Matt butted in, shaking his head.

“Get your act together, Ge. You don’t love Kim anymore. It is your guilt that eating you up, pare. You’re over her. You’ve been over her! Okay na siya, her boyfriend will take care of her. Now, be a good husband to your wife”, Fred seriously said. “See you at the reunion party”, he added, a slight trace of disappointment could be seen on his face.

“Please excuse my brother’s embarrasing behavior, you know how schizos are”, Sarah stated Sam in her casual tone as she paced herself back to the living room where she left him.

Sam just looked at her as though she was going through a cross-examination.

Sarah: What?

Sam: He has a mental problem? Didn’t you say you are twins?

Sarah: Yes, he is a schizo and yes, we are twins.

Sam: If one of you is suffering from such illness…. therefore the other one is also at risk for developing the same problem!

Sarah: And how did you say that?

“Genetics. Both of you are sharing and carrying the same genes. That’s how I assumed it, and most of the time my assumptions are right. Let me guess, either your mom or your dad is schizo too. Remember, it is hereditary! ” Sam explained as he stood up before her while throwing his hands on air as if he was a school professor lecturing a PhD student.

“Don’t flatter yourself, Mister. Sorry, but your assumption this time is wrong. I am pushing the red buzzer … eeennk.. eeenk….”, Sarah mimicked the sound of a buzzer then bursted into a fit of laughter. Sam’s eyes widened, undoubtedly amused. Never in his entire existence had he encountered such striking woman that even the sound of her laughter alone could make any man’s heart melt.

“I disapprove such criticism, damoiselle. You are insulting this gentleman’s reputation.”, he recited, kneeling down on the floor as he took her one hand then pressed his lips on the back of her palm like a knight in shining armor.

Sarah continued laughing. She never thought that Sam was playful and easy to get along with. She knew right then, she wouldn’t have a problem introducing him to her friends. In fact, she would ask him later if he wanted to tag along with her since she was going to take a visit at her friends’ place.

“Now I understand damoiselle. Life has been cruel to your twin brother. I am not sure if you become aware of it but river of melancholy is slowly drowning him, making him suffer from marks and prints of his past. A lost love. A heartbreak. A --”, his tone was like of those men from medieval years.
