Come on Emberpaw. These herbs can't be that bad. Emberpaw licked the herbs onto his tongue. Eww… Emberpaw thought with disgust. He washed it down with some mouse. Emberpaw glanced up and saw Ashpaw sniffing the rest of the mouse curiously. “Oh come on! It tastes a lot better that those herbs.”

“We should get going.” decided Heatherpool. “Come on. Lets  go.” Emberpaw rose to his feet as Ashpaw was swallowing the last few bites of mouse. He rushed over to his brother. “Come on mouse brain!” Emberpaw ran over to the nearest oak tree as Ashpaw followed closely. “Want to race? I bet I’ll win though!” Ashpaw snickered. “Like you can beat me you overfed FlameClan cat!” “

Well you’re half FlameClan too!” Emberpaw spat. He readied his back legs close to his body.

“Go!” Heatherpool shouted. Emberpaw started running, this is what he loved. Feeling the wind in his fur and the rush of running.

He felt the earth underneath him as his breath began being taken away with the wind that whisked past. Emberpaw curved his spine and barely touched the muddy ground with every step he took. He turned his head round to see the location his brother currently was in.

Eyes widening as Ashpaw picked up the pace, Emberpaw tried to pound his paws into the earth faster and harder Ashpaw slowed down and Emberpaw did likewise. “Wow...It-it’s the moor.”

--Ashpaw--

A horrible choking sound escaped from Emberpaw’s mouth, reacting quickly Ashpaw unsheathed his claws and clawed the badger. He thrashed his paws wilding hoping he would scare it off.  I haven’t practiced my battle moves but hopefully this will help.

A luminous moonbeam glowed through the branches of the bare trees, making the badgers beetle black eyes slightly glint in the dark.

Ashpaw paused for a brief moment and unsheathed his claws. He took a deep breath and sent a prayer to MoonClan, with his eyelids closed he imagined himself in the field Emberpaw and him had been earlier.

MoonClan please… he pleaded to himself silently.

His blood roared in his ears, in his mind he saw Soaring Eagle gleam at him with her minty green eyes and press her cold pink nose to his.

He shivered, opening his eyes he saw fire blaze at the edges of his claws.  Ashpaw crouched to his paws, hackles raised he pounced at the badger.

The badger whimpered as the flames touched his ratty fur, tufts fell out, leaving a bubbling burning mark on his skin.  Hissing and snarling Ashpaw sank his teeth into his tail, the badger screeched batting him away with his powerful paws.

The impact of the force caused Ashpaw, to lose his breath and send him hurtling towards the ground.

A cloud of dust rose beneath the autumn leaves on the forest floor, he coughed as grit flew into his mouth and eyes.

He quickly shook his fur and shook out the dust bits that clung to him.

He felt his heart beat against his chest,  he looked for any signs where the badger would be. He blocked out the shrieks and cries from the medicine cats and lifted his muzzle to the bleak air.

He whipped his head behind him, his eyes turned into blue icy shards of ice. This time I’m going to get you… Ashpaw thought, his only drive was vengeance. You hurt my brother, now you're going to pay!

With one last pounce, the badger ran away, with it’s eyes widened and his pelt stiffened from the blood that had splattered onto him.

Ashpaw flicked his eyes to his brother, his flanks were heaving up and down tediously, but he was still alive.
