"Come on, hurry up Jenna's waiting," My step mom yelled from upstairs.

Currently I was looking at myself in the full body mirror  I have on my wall in my bedroom. I was wearing a white frilly off the shoulder crop top with black skinny jeans and white converse. My brunette hair was curled and fell perfectly in front of my shoulders. To top it all off was my favorite pair of sunglasses on top of my head.

"I'm coming, just give me a second I need to grab something," I shout back up the stairs. I quickly grabbed my phone, wallet, and my canon camera from my vanity and ran upstairs.

"What took so long?" Jamie (my step mom) asked In a joking voice but she still had and impatient look on her face.

"I was feeling myself" I say not skipping a beat.

"So let me get this strait, you made me wait because you were looking at your self in a mirror?" She asked with a goofy grin on her face about to burst out laughing.

"Yeah basically," I pushed her out of the way walking out  of the door to our car. "Where are we going anyway?" I asked confused

"You remember Jenna right?"

"Yes I sure do .How could I forget someone like her."

"Well she kind of moved down the road from our old house and were going to help her move in."

"I didn't sign up for this chaos, take me back home."

"So your telling me your want to go home where your dad has his dorky friends over and not hang out with me."

I kept opening and closing my mouth but couldn't find any words to say. She was right my dads friends are weird and freak me out and my brother was also home and him and I don't get along, so this was my only option.

"Yeah, that's what I thought," She said laughing at me.

"Whatever, not to change the subject or anything but, do I look cute or do I look cute?" I turned towards her to reveal my outfit. She shifted her head looking at me up and down, almost as if  she was checking me out. She shifted her eyes back to the road before answering.

"You don't look cute..."

"HOW DARE YOU, DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH TIME I SPENT PICKING MY OUTFIT THIS MORNING..."

"CALM DOWN," She yelled interrupting me. "I you would have let me finish I was going to say you look smoking hot.

"Wait really? Aw thank you. I love you so much!" I say in a peppy voice bringing her into a quick awkward hug sense she was driving.

"Talk about a mood swing, are you on your period?" She asked jokingly because she knows I hate when people ask me that.

"No as a matter of fact I am not, you know dang well that's just my natural personality."

"I Know I just like making you mad, its really funny to see you when you are," As soon as she finished she jerked the car into a driveway that was all to familiar. My heart pounded at the sight of Jenna on the front porch.

*Ok I know what your thinking, who is this Jenna girl and why are you so weirded out by her. Jenna is Jamie's best friend and I've known her for a while. She has a weird bubbly personality that comes off as very pushy and persistent. The last time she came over my best friend Harvey was over, she kept on insisting that we were dating even when we told her we weren't. She didn't believe us and continued to make really weird jokes about Him and I which left us in an awkward place for a while.*

I opened the car door and not even two seconds later I was attacked by Jenna's two kids, Liam and Wyatt. The two little adorable munchkins gave me the cutest hugs and ran away before I could even say hi.

"Um OK, that wasn't weird at all," I said out loud looking in the direction Liam And Wyatt ran off to. I watched as they tackled another kid who looked around my are maybe two or three years older. I examined the boy they attacked and found some things quite attractive about him.  He was apparently mixed but really dark, his height stood far above mine by a foot or so, the way he was leaning against the side of the garage made him look mysterious in a way. Thank god he was looking the other way because I was checking him out for a little while. He looked my way causing me to jump and look away as fast as I could.

"I see your checking out my nephew," Jenna said gaining my attention.

"Yeah, your nephew as you call him, is hot," I said without skipping a beat.

"Wasn't expecting that," She was taken aback by my blunt comment. She lead Jamie and I to the porch and started to fan-girl over Her nephew and I, which was irritating but I just sat there and listened occasionally sending quick glances a her nephew. Eventually Jamie and Jenna shut me out and ignored me. I was looking around the yard and spotted a very outdated car that peaked my interest. Don't get me wrong I didn't know anything about that hunk of junk, but it looked cool and served as a great prop for pictures. I walked away from the crazy best friends and grabbed my camera that was draped at my side. I put my earbuds In my ears and went to town trying to get the car at every angle. As soon as I finished I stood in the same spot looking at the pictures I took.

"That's my dad's car you know?" A familiar figure from before approached me.

"Um, no I didn't actually, does he want me to delete the pictures?" I said frantically some want panicking but trying to keep my composure.

"No your fine," He stood leaning against the car. "I would actually like to see what you worked so hard on."

"Yeah, sure of course," I grabbed my camera and went back to the pictures I took just moments ago.

"Those are amazing, your really good, is photography one of your hobbies?"

"Thanks, and yeah it is, but I'm looking to make something more out of it. Those are just some rough pictures, here is one of my best," I grabbed my phone out of my back pocket to show a picture of Harvey and I as my background. Harvey had one of his arms wrapped around my waist as we were hunched over, laughing at god knows what, with the biggest smiles on our faces.

"Dang that is a beautiful picture. Is that your boyfriend?"

"No, that is my best and only friend, his names Harvey and the best, best friend anyone could ask for," I stopped myself before saying anymore. "Sorry, I'm rambling. You know what I never caught your name."

"That's because I never threw it, but it's dean."

"Did your parents hate you or something?" I asked joking around. He looked at the ground grinning.

"No they didn't, it's actually my middle name, I hate my first name even more than you hate my middle name," He responded. " but I never caught your name."

"Well dean, that is because I never threw it," I said taking the words out of his mouth.

"touche."

"The names Melissa but you can call me Missy."

"I SEE YOU TWO ARE GETTING COZY!" Jenna yelled from the porch causing a blush to rise to both of our cheeks. Dean and I both chuckled and rolled our eyes. I spent the rest of the day with him, helping unpack Jenna's stuff, singing to whatever was playing on the radio, and I even did a photo shoot with him and gave him all of the pictures.

"Time to go," Jamie said signaling for me to come with her.

"Ok I'm coming," I grabbed my phone and camera and ran outside.
