"it's not the first time you've sang in front of people cleo" taylor says
"yes but i had someone with me, i'm doing this alone" i freak out

"are you singing spanish songs?" i taylor asks
"some, this is a hispanic club after all" i giggle
"well duh" taylor laughs along
"5 min cleo" a girl tells me and i nod
"okay we're going to the audience you'll do great" taylor hugs me

"hola señores y señoras hoy los va a cantar la señorita cleo rose" a man yells
i walk on the stage and i hear clapping
"gracias for tenerme aqui, for the first song i will be singing "me vas a extrañar"
i was really nervous at first, i did this one sitting down on a stool because i was really nervous. i played with my nails a lot during it but i kept my voice strong. the song finished and i heard clapping and whistling which really boosted my confidence. i look over at our table and i see issac (the light skin from chick-fil-a) i guess he ended up coming after all. i smile to myself
"tienes una voz muy hermosa cleo" the man says side hugging me and smiling at the crowd
"muchas gracias señor" i smile back
"ahora cleo los va cantar otra para ustedes" he says walking off the stage
"this next song is called "que bonito es querer" i say about to sit down again when the pianist takes it away and gives me a "you can do this" nod
this song felt a little more free, i just kinda stood in one place. i felt good thinking people actually liked my voice. when i was done i felt as if the claps got harder and the room got louder. i smile and wave
