KIM’s POV

Hinawakan ko ang laptop para buksan nang biglang  nag-ring yun phone ko. Si Abuelo tumatawag.

“Hello, Lo! Kumusta po kayo?” tanong ko.

“We’re ok, hija! I know you’re doing fine there! I hope I did not disturb you.” Masayang sabi nito.

“Not at all, Lo! Napatawag po kayo.” masaya kong sabi ko.

“Yes, I just want to tell  you that next week we are going to the province. Me grand alumni yun high school class  ng Abuela mo. Sasamahan ko sya. So I was just thinking if you want to extend your stay there kasama ang mga in-laws mo tutal wala naman kami. Baka magtagal kami dun ng one week or two depende sa Abuela mo.’ Masayang sabi nito.

“Ganun po ba? O sige mo mabuti po at ng makapag relax po kayo pareho. For sure matutuwa sina Mama na ma-extend yun stay namin dito. Mag-ingat po kayo and enjoy. I love you po!” masayang sabi ko.

“I love you too, apo. O sige na magpahinga ka na at ako ay ganun din. Kiss Alex for me and  tell Xander to take care of the two of you, ok?! We’ll see you when we get back. Bye!”

“Bye, Lo Ingat po sa byahe! Kiss Abuela for me!” Masaya kong sagot.

“I will. Bye!”

Pagbaba ko ng phone, napangiti ako. Abuelo and Abuela really love each other. Through the years, para pa rin silang magnobyo. Sana kami din ni Xander.

Binalikan ko yun laptop nang narinig ko na nagsalita si Xander.

“Babe, bakit ka tumayo? OK ka na ba?” malambing nitong tanong sabay yakap sa beywang ko. Kinikig naman ako.

“Yes,I feel better now. Bigla ko lang naisip na  hindi ko pa pala nai-inform si Joseph na hindi na ako babalik sa New York and that I wanted to transfer my business share ke Mommy. Mag e-mail sana ako sa kanya.”   Sagot ko. Nakitang  kong ngumiti si Xander.

“Thanks, Babe! You really made me happy.” Masayang sabi nito. “Bukas mo na  yan gawin. Better,  tawagan mo muna sya before ka mag e-mail. Parang sobrang formal naman kung  mauna yun e-mail mo. Di ba sabi mo you’re friends? So dapat mas personal yun pagpapaalam mo sa kanya. Call him tomorrow after dinner, maybe?”  suggest niya.   

Xander has a point there. “Ok, pero bigla akong nagutom. Parang hindi ako nabusog sa kinain ko eh. Bababa muna ako.” Paalam ko sa kanya.  Ayaw ko kasing magtagal ang usapan namin.

“Babe, let’s talk. What’s the problem? Is it about Bridgette?” tanong nya.

So, sinabi na pala ni Mama na nakita naming ang bruhang iyon. “ What about her?” poker face kong tanong.
