(A/n: I rewrote the intro because the first one I think was awful and too short. This isn't that much longer but I'm more proud of this one. And I've been working)think on what the next chapter should be and I'll also be working on the rewrite of Chapter one so that there are more of your Freshman year moments so that you can learn more about your past with Dante because I know that what you all came here for!

Anyways enjoy the rewrite! :)

No POV

Coming back from being stuck at a Military Academy for three or so years isn't easy for (Y/n) Lycan. Not to mention that her parents are rarely home so how is she or anyone supposed to get adjusted back into a 'normal' as people call it. The only person she had left was her older sister, Melissa Lycan. She had to leave her older brother Aaron Lycan back at the Academy because her parents for once wanted to try and do her a favor by letting her have a full four years of high school, unlike her middle school years where she missed the whole thing. She had to be taught the subject while at the academy while also being trained to the bone.

Here is the beginning of a new start.

You sighed leaning your head on the car window. Your breath fogging up the glass before it quickly disappeared. For once your parents made time for you but at the cause of them taking you away from your brother for a whole year.

~Flashback~

You stood next to your bunk with all your stuff packed and ready to go. Aaron standing next to you holding your hand both wearing your black sleeveless shirts with green camo pants and black combat boots covered in mud.

"I'll be fine, (Y/n), don't worry too much about me," the tan boy assured his younger sister.

"I know," the (h/c) haired girl muttered, "but I still don't want to leave you. You're my closest family member. Everyone else is to busy focusing on the dumb family business."

"I know, but it's only a year, (Y/n), we'll get through this together even if we're not next to each other because no matter how far apart we are-"

"We will always be family by blood and by heart," the (e/c) eyed girl finished looking up a smile finally appearing on her face.

"Yeah," Aaron nodded as his sister hugged him tightly. He rubbed her back soothingly resting his chin on her head.

"Lycan! Your parents are here!" The officer yelled.

You sighed and grabbed your satchel and duffle bag. Aaron grabbing your suitcase. Both of you walking slowly to the small building that acted as an office. As you reached it and headed in you saw both your parents standing there talking to the main office.

"Mom, Dad," you greeted showing no emotion nodding your head to them.

"Sweetie," your mother, Rachel Lycan, said back nodding her head back at you, "Aaron."

"Mom," Aaron said back the same way as you did.

"Alright, (Y/n), let's get going," Your father Derek Lycan said finishing his conversation with the officer, "Aaron, we'll back for you in a year so be good," he said patting his son's back taking your suitcase from him.

"Yes sir," Aaron said nodding his head understandingly.

"See you soon, Aaron," you said looking up at him one last time, giving him another quick hug before walking out the building your parents right behind you.

~End of Flashback~

That had all accrued about an hour and a half ago. Since then you've been stuck in a quiet car with both your parents. They didn't try talking to you nor did you try talking to them.

You didn't have the time or need to want to talk to them. They had never been there for you when you needed them most. Aaron was always there for you and now you were miles away from each other.

You sighed once again finally deciding to get some rest than trying to survive the silence with your parents.

~

Weeks have passed since you've returned from Military Academy and your parents have already signed you up at a High School nearby, Phoenix Drop High. Though they are allowing you to go to 'normal' school you still have very strict rules to follow.

Your parents had sat you down on the living room sofa your father standing in front of you explaining to you all the rules that must be followed for your safety and the family's.

"The 1st Rule is: No Friends or any kind of relationship. It's too risky, they could anger you somehow and they could find out.

The 2nd Rule goes with the first: Be as rude as you need to be to have people stay away from you. Be a delinquent. If you're rude and tough no one will try to step up to you," Derek explained adding more details and a few more rules that mainly backed up the first one.

You could only sit there and listen to the stupid rules that were put upon you. Your older sister hiding behind the stairs wall listening to everything being told to you. She didn't know what both you and Aaron were going through be she felt awful not being able to do anything.

After you had returned she noticed how you were different. Before you used to be a cheerful, goofy girl but now after the Academy, it seems you can hide your emotions and keep a stoic face not showing any sign of weakness or happiness.

It broke her having to see you like that. She missed her cheery sister. She misses the silly 10-year old that would run around the home brightening up the home atmosphere but now that girl is gone. She missed being able to watch her baby sister grow up over the years now she's a teenager starting her first year of High School.

"Do you understand, (Y/n)?" Derek asked finally finishing his lecture.

"Yes, father," you replied, no emotion heard within the response.

"You can head to your room now, dinner should be ready soon," he told before walking away to his office behind on paperwork.

You nodded and head for the stairs to get to your room just to see Melissa at the stairs looking like she had heard everything.

Melissa stood agap not knowing what to say but you only started at her with a blank expression. You walked past her up the stairs and head to your room closing the door immediately.

The thing one knew was that you slid down the door. Tears threatening to escape but you wouldn't let them fall. You had to be strong. This was your life and you had to live it no matter what because behind everyone dark Shadow is a bright light to follow. You knew after this dreadful year you'd be reunited with the light you are waiting for.

But who knew you'd find another light to brighten up your life. One much brighter than the one your brother illuminated for you. This light having a tinge of blue within it. Making you smile even through the toughest of times.
