It's the middle of the night and there's a massive thunderstorm happening around your area, usually you don't mind the noise of it because you find it somewhat peaceful but tonight was different the wind clashing against the window started to get louder and the impact got harder with each gust of wind

*loud clash & thunder*

Your woken up by the sound leaving your heart racing and scared

"Wtf oh my god" you say trying to get yourself calm again. You turn to you side and check the time on your phone 2:15am, you place the phone down and turn your lamp on. As your about to stand up to check the windows and get some water there's a loud knock on your door the sound making you flinch.

"Who the fuck is knocking at my door at this hour?","Am I about to get robbed nah am I about to get murdered?!?!" "If I don't answer they'll go away"

*loud knocking AGAIN*

"Shit" you say quietly, you slowly stand up and start walking towards the door but making a pit stop in the kitchen and grabbing a small knife that you can hide and use to defend yourself if it comes to it.

"It's fine I AM FINE" you start to tell yourself, you make it to your door and lean to see through the peephole just to see a face you know very well. You place the knife down and start unlocking the door with a little rush, once it's opened you make instant eye contact with the person.

"Brad" you say with a slight worried tone "what's going on? Are you okay?"
What feels like an eternity staring into each other's eyes he snaps out of it and does a little chuckle
"Yeah yeah I'm okay haha I just....I had a rough day and needed to talk to someone" he looks hurt
"Okay yeah come in" you step to the side letting him in "do you want some tea or coffee,water?" There's a moment of silence while your locking the door then hear him say "water would be nice,thanks"

As you make your way to the kitchen you seen him from the corner of your eye walking and sitting down on the couch in-front of the window (picture above lol) and you start to think about why he's here, why did he choose to come to me from all his close friends, he could've gone to Nat or the boys but he came here?

*loud thunder*

The noise pulled you from your thoughts and you go sit next to Brad handing him the glass of water. He takes a sip and places it down then makes eye contact "Did I wake you up or was it the storm?" He says, "uh no um there was this big clash near my window that scared the shit out of me waking me up thn you knocked on my door" you say with a small smile "ok good..." he turns his head to the window and you see him admiring the rain, not knowing what to respond you just sit there and for some reason you start to admire him and his features especially how his hair looks so soft even tho he just came from pouring rain it somehow dried very quickly. You start looking down and see his slight smile and you noticed how his lips looked kinda pinkish and plumpy. "How would it feel to kiss those lips?" You think in you head "woah wait hold up why am I even thinking about that, Brad and I are friends like yeah his attractive but his wayyyy older thn me actually 6yrs older he could be my brother jeez y/n  get yourself together"

"Alice cheated on me" he says out of nowhere. Brad and Alice met last year at a Halloween party and they hit it off super well, she's a fashion designer from California who moved to New York because she got an amazing job offer. You've met a couple of times and she seemed extremely nice, you even remember complimenting her beautiful blonde hair and having drinks at one of the boys birthday party. She definitely did not looked like someone who would cheat but hey appearances can be misleading you guess. "I-I'm so sorry..what happened? how did you find out?"you say in a sad tone. "Her fiancé told me...yup her F I A N C É" he says in a petty slight angry tone. Holy shit her fucking fiancé?! Wtf is going on, she's didn't even have a ring or even mentioned that's messed up. "He came around my apartment asking for me while Alice was out and he told me how Alice left Cali but told him the reason was for a fashion show that would last 4 months to prepare for and that when she goes back they planned to get married" he says but you don't respond because your in shock so he notices and continues "he said that she went MIA about a month ago so he contacted her work place,got an address,bought a ticket and now we are here....Alice lied to me for a whole year ha I'm pretty sure this whole relationship meant nothing to her" you look at him with sad eyes "she came home and I broke it off, she's gone and I don't know what I'm doing but something was telling me to come here...to talk to you"

To me? This is a lot I feel so bad for Bradley he doesn't deserve this no one deserves this but why am I glad he came and told me...why do I have butterflies rn???

"Y/n" brad says looking at you with pleading eyes
"Brad" you say feeling a mix of emotions. "Would you mind if I stayed the night uh I'll sleep on the couch and be out by daylight" you definitely didn't expect that but what were you expected huh? "Um no of course not that's fine I'll get you a pillow and a blanket um brb" you say with a smile standing up and going to your closet but stop and look at yourself in the mirror "am I starting to feel something for Brad?"
