Chapter 16: Imitation

"You ..." Qiu-shi clenched her lower molar with anger.

Gu Chunzhu would never tell her the secret of shrimp fishing. She reluctantly went back to her spot to sit cross-legged and continued. 

Her rod moved, pulling a few times.

At the same time, the man who asked Gu Chunzhu hooked another shrimp. The corner of the man's lips lifted with satisfaction. A smile that stung Qiu-shi's eyes.

"See here, my sister-in-law didn't teach me how to catch shrimp but happened to teach other men. It seems that brother-in-law often went out hunting these days. They seem close." 

The tune she used made people feel uncomfortable.

This Qiu-shi is testing her patience again and again but Gu Chunzhu can't be bullied easily.

Gu Chunzhu lowered her thin bamboo rod with a slap, walked to Qiu-shi's side, took her fishing rod, and snapped it in two.

"What the hell! My shrimp hook is made of needles, that cost me!" 

Qiu shi was in distress, she laid on the big blue stone, trying to reach for the half part of the rod that fell in the river. 

Gu Chunzhu's then tugged her hair, pulling her scalp inciting pain.

Gu Chunzhu dragged Qiu Shi, she took the rod and pummeled it on her.

"If you want your face(reputation) Stop speaking nonsense and have some shame! You don't have the ability to catch shrimp so you want to ruin people's reputation! Do you think of me as a soft persimmon?! See if I can't kill you today!" 

Qiu shi screamed like a pig, trying to snatch the bamboo rod in Gu Chunzhu's hand. She was beaten several times.

The Shrimp fishermen are all from the same village. They are all acquaintances so they can't just watch Qiu-shi be killed. They hurried and pulled them apart.

"Don't fight, stop fighting, you two are relatives, talk it out"

"Yes ah, Su Qiu you can't just joke, with someone else's reputation at stake!"

Half of Gu Chunzhu's bamboo rod was taken away, the other half was thrown. Well, she already pummeled Qui shi a few times, she was very comfortable.

Qui shi was about to answer when a slap stopped her.

This time it was not Gu Chunzu but the man who she splashed dirty water.

"Qui shi, please watch your mouth." 

The man slapped her again, went to the river to pick up his fishing rod and bucket, then walked away.

Qiu Shi was shocked by that slap. 

The man 's hand was big and thick, with great strength her face turned swollen. 

Dao Yin and Gu Chunzhu had no mercy.

"You don't like your sister-in-law, but you can't splash dirty water on others. This big brother was already bad-tempered, and he is the village chief's nephew, what would you do if he beat you up?"

"Neither is Dao Yin's wife." 

She's annoying you have to ask for more blessings.

Qiu Shi's face was beaten black and blue.

"You all bully me, I might as well die." She cried and ran back.

Gu Chunzhu sarcastically looked at Qiu Shi's back that escaped faster than the rabbit. She stayed there expressionless.

"Wangqin's wife, your fishing rod is moving, is there a shrimp on the hook?"

A woman kindly reminded Gu Chunzhu. 

There are many people fishing for shrimp, but the river prawn seems to have identified her bait, she still catches more prawns than others.

Everyone knows that Gu Chunzhu must have other ways, but it can't be helped since she didn't want to say.
