(This is a poem I wrote for a project I had to do based off of the book Animal Farm by George Orwell.)
An Unfair Life
They sit there doing nothing every day
We work till are death without no break or play
Telling us what and what not we can do
A sky that is now grey used to be so blue
They sit in the house full of pride
While some wonder if we are alright inside
We lost our best man as they celebrated
All they paid for was for the poor guy to be exterminated
For a man to be so great and powerful
The followers so happy but dull
He manipulated his way to the top
Though they stayed working endlessly with no stop
For a man to have such a moving vision
Others had made their decision
For the people whose hands were held high
A lot of people lost their minds as they cry
For the people who work to no end
None of us can no longer be happy and pretend
For the people who say they do good deeds for the country
Listen to the others who are pleading on their knees
To those who wish for a better time in life
Add fuel to your fire and just ignite
To those who wonder when it will finally be over
Look to those who you love for closure
Because one day we will rise up to show what we want
But to some extent at what cost
While others may have regrets
The rest of us will never forget
For those who already have a good time in life
Why not give back to those who strive
To those with an unfair life
We will make it out alive and we will survive
