It took alot of your strength to hold in your laughter. good think you've had practice.

you heard Anne and Billy arguing, a year ago you would've done the same, but it's no use, Billy was just a jerk.

"of course" Gilbert said. "thanks for uhm... coming by to help... feed the beasts." he said looking at you.

"oh that was just Anne, I'm not spending hours in the kitchen only to burn whatever I was trying to make," you say laughing.

Gilbert chuckles, thinking about the time you tried to bake a pie together and ended up with a burnt crisp.

"well thank you, Anne" Gilbert said looking over at her. "and uhm I should apologize... for uhm... you know" he said.

Anne nodded as she turned to talk to Matthew.

Gilbert gave you an unsure look and you chuckled softly. "take a break and come sit with me," you said smiling. Gilbert nodded.

"so how are you? you must be tired," you asked as you walked over to more private spot. Ruby was still standing beside you, it was pretty awkward, because she was just... staring, making Gilbert really uncomfortable.

"yea well I'm fine," he said letting out a chuckle.

"and your father?" you asked with a small frown. Gilbert clenched his jaw.

"I don't think it will last long till he..." he didn't finish his sentence.

you wrapped your arms around him and he buried his face in your neck taking in your familiar scent.

after a few seconds he pulled away. "let's talk about something else" he said.

you nodded noticing he felt uncomfortable showing his feelings around all these people.

"where's Tyler?" you ask smiling.

"he's probably taking a break somewhere" Gilbert said looking around, making eye contact with Ruby for a second as he gulped.

"I'll go look for him," you say as you look around aswell. "I better go, be careful up there," you say as you kiss his cheek.

he sends you a smile before you walk off to find your brother.

"come on Ruby, let's go" you said dragging her along. it felt like she wasn't able to get her eyes of Gilbert.

"what does he smell like?" she asks as she finally turned around, her eyes still sparkling.

you frowned. "uhh well... I don't know" you say chuckling. "he smells good I guess"

after you talked to your brother you went back home. you had never spend this much time with ruby before and she was driving you mad.

I can't wait for this week to be over.

Anne had invited you and Ruby and Tyler over to her storyclub in the woods. at first Tyler didn't wanna come, but you managed to convince him by saying that Anne would love for him to be there.

so you walked there loudly chatting in the afternoon.

when you arrived the little storyclub Anne and Diana were already there. they made flower crowns for all of you and they looked amazing.

inside the wooden playhouse there was a small campfire and it was decorated with wild flowers and pineapples. it looked truly magical.

you all sat down in a circle. you sat between your brother and Diana.

"oh, Anne, this is so... so..." Diana said getting cut of by Anne.

"... so deliciously secret and scrumptiously exiting?" Anne said.

"you have such a way with words" you said chuckling.

"I hardly know what you're saying" Ruby said chuckling.

"thank you... now before we begin cultivating our imaginations, each of us should pick our non de plume." Anne said. you frowned.

what?

"see? it's happened again." Ruby said causing everyone to chuckle.

"A non the plume is a pen name for purposes of anonymity" Tyler said.

you nodded as Anne squealed. "I shall be writing under the name of Rosamond Montmorency" she said.

"oh, that gives me such a thrill" Diana said excitedly.

"once a week we'll read or completed stories aloud to eachother and talk them over thoughtfully." Anne said.

everyone nodded. you could see by your brother's expression that he didn't regret coming.

him and Anne immediately started writing.

you stared at your paper just like Ruby and Diana.

"I can't think of anything" Ruby said sighing.

"I've got heaps of ideas if you need a little prompting start" Anne said. "how about a tale of romance most divine and tragical?"

your eyes widened as you started writing.

"I'm gonna write something about Gilbert" Ruby said squealing soft. her eyes widened as she looked at your brother remembering that they're friends.

Tyler noticed as he chuckled. "I won't tell him don't worry" he said.

you bit your lip trying not to laugh, because Gilbert already knew about Ruby's feelings for him, it was way to obvious.

the week went by pretty fast, you visited Gilbert every day and spend alot of time writing.

Ruby still annoyed you, but she was alright, aside from the fact that she kept staring at the picture of Gilbert in your room.

when school started again Anne came back, now she also had Ruby she didn't have to sit alone.

she still avoided Gilbert and he didn't understand why, constantly asking you if he should apologize again or asking if you knew why she hated hin so much. you weren't gonna tell him. Ruby would have your head.
