"Are you sleepy, [Name]-chan?"

You jumped beside your boyfriend on the couch, immediately to attention. The movie that had been playing on the screen had long since ended, the credits scrolling to a halt, and you were partly upset you hadn't been able to watch the ending and the other half glad you hadn't been woken.

"What? No, sorry, I was just..." you began, though you were already trailing off. It had been a long, cozy day, spent cuddled on the couch of your shared house with your boyfriend and nibbling on pastries he'd brought home from his family's bakery. Had you had a proper meal today? You didn't think so, but all you needed was Mrs. Kamado's blueberry muffins to survive.

"You don't need to pretend," Tanjirou promised with a small smile. He'd already wrapped you in a knitted blanket - a project he'd taken on for your first Christmas together. It was a little messed up in places, but you loved it all the same, each stitch lovingly crafted. "If you need help, I can carry you up the stairs."

You gave a giggle, shaking your head, still slightly hazy from sleep. "No, that's okay. What happened at the end of the movie? Did that one guy die?"

Your eyes were just slightly heavy, cloudy, though you could still see your boyfriend's face twist as he said, "C-come on, I won't spoil it!" and you knew immediately that yes, indeed, that one guy died.

"Can we go to sleep together?" you asked him quietly, and he immediately nodded, reaching to pull the blanket back over your shoulder as it slipped down.

"Of course. Let me go put away the muffins," he told you.

"Please," you hummed out, closing your eyes, and he gave a chuckle as he stood up and pressed a kiss to your forehead before he went to the kitchen to clean up. You were leaned back into the couch, half asleep when you heard Tanjirou padding back to you, blowing out the candle on the coffee table.

"Blueberry muffins," you murmured out, feeling his arms wrap around you as he slowly lifted you off the couch.

"Blueberry muffins," Tanjirou agreed, even though he wasn't entirely sure what he was agreeing with. You were wrapped up in the knitted blanket; he'd put so much work into it, working on it while he worked the counter at the bakery. One time you'd come in to surprise him, and he'd practically fainted when the bell above the door jingled and you'd walked in with flowers for the bakery. He'd had to stuff the blanket under the counter, and he'd had to lie to you, oh my goodness, it was terrible.

He carried you up the stairs with no problem, easing the door to your shared bedroom open with his foot, walking in towards the bed and gently laying you down. You immediately sprawled out, grabbing Tanjirou's pajama pant leg and tugging.

"Chocolate chip muffins," you mumbled, and he gave a quiet laugh, reaching down to work your hand off his pants. He instead intertwined your fingers, pulling aside the blanket to lay beside you.

"Not strawberry?" he asked you quietly, and your nose scrunched up.

"Not strawberry," you said.

When you felt him beside you you wiggled closer to him, pressing your face into his chest. It was hard and warm; you thought it was unfair, he worked at a bakery and could still carry you up a flight of stairs, meanwhile you knew that bread had to be doing a number on you.

"You're beautiful," he murmured quietly into your hair, pressing a small kiss there. "I love you, [Name]."

"I love you too," you whispered back, already a small pool of drool on Tanjirou's sleep shirt. You were going to be embarrassed, when you woke up, though every time Tanjirou only grinned and said that he didn't mind, it was cute.

"What about banana muffins?" he asked you, and you gave a long moment of quiet thought.

"The worst," you concurred.
