When the past just won't let you go.

"That was our choice Lam. We choose that to at least saved our good memories together. We need to break up before we end up hating each other." Beam

"Beam, Forth will never ever hate you. And I am sure you will not too." Lam

"Maybe Lam, but there is this bitterness we start to feel. I start to feel. Breaking up is the most feasible decision we can do at that time Lam. And it's no ones fault. Forth did his best to give both me and his family care and attention. If there's someone to blame, it should be me. I am the one who asked for a break up .It was me who got tired of everything Lam." Beam

"I understand you Beam. My friend is just stupid." Lam.

Beam smiles.

"You always take my side. Thanks Lam. Its a relief, at least you are glad to see me, while your dear best friend shun and runs from me the moment he sees me." Beam whines to Lam, trying to hide his hurt from his previous encounter with Forth.

"Wait...you met him?! Where?!" Lam

"Yes, at the mall a few days ago. He hates to be seen with me and so he runs from me." Beam

"Are you sure it was him Beam?!" Lam

"Yes, we talk a little because he was in a hurry to shun me away" Beam pouts.

"Beam no one knows where Forth is staying right now. We totally lost contact him, include me on the list. He would just text me from time to time saying that he is okay. He even keep changing his number. It has been two months since the last time he texted me." Lam

Beam was again silent.

"Lam what happen to Forth when I go? I heard he was supposed to be married." Beam has to asked, its bothering him. He knows Lam is the only one who can give him the detail.

"Forth tried his best to be a filial son to his parents Beam. He stays until his Dad finally recovers. Took charge on their company. And even force himself to get married with the person he doesn't love. He thought he can take it all, but no...he just can't love someone other than you Beam. He broke off the wedding . His parents was furious at him at first, but he take it all. Until one day he finally broke down, he cried in front of his family for the very first time in his life Beam. If I remember it right, it was after Phana told him that you resigned from the hospital and had planned in staying out of the country for who knows until when. After That Day Forth gradually change." Lam

"change?" Beam

" Forth knows how to fake happiness Beam, a skill he learned working on the show business. It is easy for him to smile and act professional in front of everyone, but after losing you. He just become an empty man Beam. No one can force him to do anything and so he dissolves his contract with our company. He still do his job at his father's company but gone is the warmth that Forth naturally exudes to everyone Beam. We initially thought it was just temporary but it's been three years Beam and he still refuses to see his family and friends again. His fans are waiting for him to comeback but still he is nowhere to be found.
He stop singing and stop playing instruments. He even closed his own music studio. Then one day he told me he is going away. "Lam

"He don't seem happy to see me Lam. I am sure he is over me a long time ago.Maybe he has other reason for staying out of the limelight. Who knows, a secret family?
Just tell him Lam if he comes to meet you that no need to be cold to me or run away from me. I have no plans to cause him trouble" Beam

"Beam do you still not get it? I know hate is at the farthest he felt from you. He loves you Beam . Forth tried but really cannot love other than you." Lam

"You might be wrong Lam. Its been three years. Forth and I is over years ago. " Beam

"Are you sure Beam?" Lam

"We are an hopeless case Lam. I don't want to go back to those times that I was keep hidden Lam. Maybe an old saying is true Lam, blood is indeed thicker than water. Or maybe our love was just not meant to be. I have a daughter now Lam, I cannot drag her into a scandal with me. She is my life now. I just want to remember Forth as a happy memory Lam. And that's it."Beam

"Beam can you not give Forth one more chance to prove his love for you?" Lam

"Lam, Forth does not even want to see me, moreover talk about love .Maybe you are wrong with your assumptions Lam." Beam

"Beam, I cannot locate Forth for months now, yet he choose to roam around you, just weeks after you come back. Forth probably knows your back and so he roams around you. Who knows he might see us now talking at this very moment. Do you remember, this has happen before. Before Forth and you got together in college. You know he will always have his ways when it comes to you." Lam

"But Lam, his ways did not work out three years ago. Sorry I don't want to sound bitter but, Forth still fails to fight for me. " Lam

"Beam, Forth is not afraid of losing his career .What he is afraid of is you getting hurt. But you are right too, he still fails didn't he?

Still let me at least tell you this Beam, it pains him to see you hurt more than you may have remembered. Beam I saw how he protected you in his own way. And so when it still fails, he felt guilty every single minute that passes. It was that built up guilt that causes him to agree with you to break up. He wanna spare you with more heartache. He just felt you deserve someone better.

"Lam, don't you think its too late to talk about this? I just want to leave a simple and peaceful life now Lam. I want it especially now that I have my daughter." Beam

Lam sighs, he is losing hope that his two dear friends can mend things now. He was very excited when a school mate told him Beam is back on his old hospital. And so he cancels all his appointments and visits Beam. He even texted Forth, though he is not sure he will received it.
