~ Elle ~

I sat on the cold hard floor of the chilly drawing room in number 12 Grimmauld Place trying to escape the heat, as well as everyone else.

I'd been asking for weeks when we were going to be rescuing Harry from privet drive with our aunt and uncle but nobody would listen to a word I had to say and would tell me that he would be collected soon. Always soon. That was the only answer I ever got to my questions to the order anymore.

The only adult that would listen to my questions was Sirius and I could see the genuine pain in his face as he told me that Harry would be here soon and I got the feeling that he had been forced to say that to me.

All of us kids were bored out of our minds when we weren't decontaminating this disgusting house and even though Hermione had arrived yesterday it had gotten no better.

With the help of Tonks we'd tried to make our room a bit nicer than how it was at the moment, dank, dark and dull by getting her to charm the walls into a deep red and the door to gold but that night while we were sleeping, it had all been undone; the house had so many charms and curses on it from Sirius' horrible family that the houses walls themselves had dissolved our futile attempt at making our stay more enjoyable.

I was sharing a room with Ginny on the first floor of the house with Hermiones room right next door, Ron on the third and Fred and George on the fourth which meant that Mrs Weasley would know if any of us was sneaking around to talk to eachother during the night.

She didn't trust any of us. We had gathered snippets of information from their meetings with something that Fred and George had invented called extendable ears, which allowed us to listen to the conversation they were having in the basement from the safety of the second floor.

"Elle are you in here?" A soft voice called out from behind the door that I recognised as my best friend Ginny's.

"Yeah" I replied weakly. I didn't want to be with anyone right now but I also didn't want to push away the only person that had come to see me since I disappeared into the jaws of the cold dusty room.

The door clicked open and I felt her sit down beside me on the cold floor and wrap her arm around my shoulder.

I smiled and wrapped my own arm around her as we looked out the window to see a muggle walking past, struggling to restrain her dog as it attempted to chase a ball that a child had dropped on the road.

"Hey I know that not happy that we can't get Harry yet but they said he will come" she said soothingly.

"But I feel like we shouldn't be waiting for something to happen before we bring him here, that he should come here before he does something irrational."

"I get what you mean. Sirius is the same though, he's frustrated that he's trapped here and is getting restless, he doesn't like being trapped inside" she explained and we both thought the same thing.

One of them was bound to snap soon and we weren't quite happy to see that both of them were getting restless.

"Come on then" Ginny said hoisting herself off the ground and holding her hand out to me "Freds been trying to find you for an hour but he's too stupid to look here" she snorted.

I laughed and let her pull me up and we walked arm in arm down to the basement where everyone was gathered in the kitchen.

"Ah I see you girls are just in time, take a seat dinner will be ready in minute or two" Mrs Weasley exclaimed as she bustled around the kitchen.

I took a seat in between Fred and Sirius while she sat opposite me between Hermione and Tonks, getting caught in a conversation immediately.

I sighed and looked at my hands as they rested on my lap.
