2.The Meeting

I tap my pen on my note pad as I wait for the meeting to start. After a few minutes a handsome clean shaven man in a tailored suit enters the office.

Ambrose and I stand up so we can all shake hands.

"Mr.Anders you didn't tell me you had such a beautiful assistant working on the case with you." The handsome man in the suit offers me a welcoming grin.

"Oh she's just listening in, looking to get some knowledge in the lawyer field." Ambrose says trying to keep the conversation about anything but me.

"Thank you Mr.Hanley." I say trying to sound professional as possible.

Ambrose looks at me shocked that I know our clients name, little did he know I did some digging on the file so I could be in on the loop.

"So beautiful, what's your name?" Mr.Hanley says with a curious look.

"Enough chit-chat let's get to work on this case, we don't want to keep Mr.Hanley waiting right Haisley?" Ambrose interrupts before things can get any farther.

"Beautiful name, here's my card in case you need to get ahold of me, for the case that is." He smiles and winks at me.

I feel myself blushing as I reach out to take his card.

"Alright Mr.Hanley any word on your ex wife?" Ambrose says trying to change the direction of the conversation.

"As of now she's still in Greece with her boyfriend Milo."

"Tomorrow I have a meeting set up to meet with her, Haisley I'll need you to book two rooms for us at the Santorini Style Plaza." Ambrose says as he catches a quick side glance of me.

"In Greece?" I say in shock.

"Obviously, that's where Mr.Hanley says she is unless I'm hard at hearing."

I roll my eyes at Ambrose' sarcastic remark.

"Do you think you will get anything out of her Mr.Anders?" Mr.Hanley asks intently.

"Of course, I'm the best in the game, not only did you hire me, you hired my name and reputation and I've never lost a case."

My heart skips a beat at his arrogance, how could I be so attracted to such an asshole.

"You getting all of this Haisley?"

"Yes sir."

"I'd like for you to call me sir."
Our client winks at me for the second time.

"Alright we'll it was nice meeting with you again Mr.Hanley we will be in contact." Ambrose says in an annoyed tone.

"Thank you both, goodbye Haisley, it was nice meeting you."

He reaches his hand out to me and I do the same.

"Thank you Mr.Hanley."

"Call me Todd."

I nod and wave him out.

I shut the door behind him and find an angry Ambrose towering over me.

"What was that Haisley?"

"What was what?"

"Fraternizing with our client, did law school teach you nothing."

"I wasn't-"

"Save it. You can go home for the day I don't need your assistance any more, just remember to make our reservations we leave tomorrow at 6am."

"Okay goodnight Mr.Anders."

"Goodnight Haisley."

Once I get home I take a quick shower and throw my hair into a messy bun.

*ring *ring *ring

I look at my phone and see my sister Kelsey calling.

"Hello?"

"Hello sunshine how was your first day at work."

"Uneventful to say the least." I lie.

"That bad huh?" Kelsey says in a prying tone.

"Yeah and to make things worse my boss is a bipolar asshole." I say, wondering if I will regret that later.

"Sounds like you need a drink wanna meet me at Tito's?"

"I'd love to but I have an early morning tomorrow Kels."

"Boo you suck!"

"Sorry sis, raincheck?"

"For sure, I love you and show that asshole you don't take no shit!"

"I'll try, don't be out to late I worry about you."

"Don't wait up..."

"I love you I gotta go, be safe sis."

"I will mom love you bye-bye."

I laugh at her sarcasm.

After I hang up the phone I get on my computer and schedule for two rooms at the santorini style plaza hotel. After that I brush my teeth and decide to call it a night.
