"Shoto, the guests are here," my father said to me as he walked into my room. I wasn't fully finished getting dressed, my coat still wasn't on. "Hurry up and get your coat on!" he hissed.
"Okay, okay...I'll be down in a minute," I told him. Then, he left me alone. All alone...in my big bedroom...all by myself...I threw my coat on and walked over to my mirror. I looked at myself and fixed myself up a bit.
"Another ball...for what? To find the future queen of Musutafu?" I said aloud. I fixed my hair and left my room. I walked to the grand staircase. The room went silent.
"Now presenting, Prince Shoto," a man shouted. I walked down the staircase and met my father at the bottom.
"There are a few people that I want you to meet," he said to me. He walked me over to a young lady, princess, wearing a magnificent magenta gown.
"Prince," she curtsied. I already didn't like her. She gave off a stuck-up, cocky vibe. She then, for some reason, had the courage to complain about the kingdom. She also told me how things would change if she was my queen. Before getting too far into that conversation, my father came back over and swept me away, off to the next princess.
She had long brown hair that was in curls. Here blue dress matched the color of her eyes. She seemed to have more of a chance then the first princess. I still didn't like her though. My father then came over to me again, taking me off to another princess.
The rest of the night was boring. Every few minutes, my father would introduce me to a different princess from a different kingdom. Meeting two or three people is okay, but twenty-five different princesses that you are expected to take a liking to at least one of them is a different story. For some reason, I had enough of it all.
My father was walking towards me. I saw him and quickly tried to blend in with the crowd of people. I somehow managed to make it outside, onto a balcony. I quickly closed the doors then backed up until I hit the railing. I turned around and leaned over the railing. I gazed into the night sky.
"Fascinating," I mumbled. The wind blew my hair. The bottom of my coat blew behind me. "It feels nice," I sighed. It's weird, even with all of those people in the ballroom, it still feels like I'm alone. I heard a door open and looked below. The first princess that I met was leaving. She looked up at me and waved.
"Hope we meet again soon, Prince Shoto," she called to me in a sweet, yet cocky, voice. I almost feel bad. At that moment that she was hoping to see me soon, I felt relieved that I'd never see her again.
