THE UPPER EAST SIDE HELD meaningless gatherings quite often to flaunt a new company they took over or whatever assets they had. Everyone with enough money to their names was invited along with wealthier acquaintances. Thea by the force of her uptight mother had to attend in some skimpy dress. If she wanted to see rich people discussing how much richer the rich are just turned on the tv and watched reruns of Dynasty. The event was being held at Elenor Waldorf's penthouse no doubt she was going to showcase the magazines that she put her models in.

She hoped this car would crash so she wouldn't have to attend that god-awful get-together but alas fate wasn't on her side...  She watched as the building and pass by her. Don't get her wrong she did like New York but it was starting to get boring with the same old routine and one thing Thea hated in the world was routines, it just didn't sit right with her, something about it made her angry always following a set of a state that doesn't change.

Sitting in the car with her mother who tried to strike up a conversation with Thea making her turn her eyes away from the city view and into her mother's eyes. "Do try to mingle with some of them Theadora besides, Christian and Axel," she notified her daughter patting her on the knee lightly.

"How many times do I have to tell you, Mom," she exasperated trying to get her point across "It's Thea and no I'm not going to mingle with them. I know nothing about them, they're all spoiled brats who have hundred-dollar bills constantly coming out of their asses."

"And you're not different, how?" Her mother asked with champagne in her knowing that her daughter was equally as privileged as them. It was ten in the morning and her mom was already gobbling down champagne. She just assumed it was borderline alcoholism in her. Sometimes she wished her family wasn't so fortunate so they would stay home and have home-cooked meals instead of three platter brunch at someone else's.

"Okay. That was harsh Mom and very much unneeded but unlike them, I have worked a day in my life. I was a camp counselor this summer in New Jersey, that should count for something..." she quipped back. She may have come from money but she doesn't brag about it as other kids do in the Upper East Side( okay maybe sometimes but only when that person has bothered her).

The car pulled up to the penthouse, the street was busy as she saw people arguing with their taxi drivers and some just walking with themselves probably heading to meet up with their friends or family. Getting out of the car she walked into the building where the event was being held, her mother stayed behind to talk to the driver. Making her way to the elevator she pressed the bottom but before the door could close she saw a hand-stopping the elevator door. She would've rolled her eyes at whoever stopped it but this time she was glaring at the door that opened revealing Declan Vanderbilt Upper East Side's resident fuckboy. Her posture tensed as he entered the elevator, she didn't know what the think about the brunette other than not to trust him, she thinks someone as eyes bright as him shouldn't be trusted since those types of people always lured you in with safety and warmth. Two things that don't mix well in the upper east side.
