Its sometimes hard living in a small-town. Everyone knows everyone, everyone is family, if you get caught the sheriff knows your dad. Sometimes you just want to have fun. At least I want to have fun. Me and my dad, Bobby-Rae, live on the old ranch where he grew up. Horse-shoe Ranch. My mama died of breast cancer but luckily I didn't get those genes. Now its just me and him. We have a bond that could never break. He's been my right hand and I've been his.

"Sadie get your ass down here right now and help me with the horses." He called.

"Yes-sir." I always reply. I hop on out of bed and throw on a quick outfit, a old dawgs shirt, cut off jeans, and my boots. I throw my hair up in a braid and throw on my hat.

"Daddy, you should really get some help around this farm. I am about to go to nursing school and I cant always help." I explain walking down the stairs. And to my surprise I hear an unfamiliar voice. Its deep and husky but sounds very southern. It was music to my ears. 'Good thing I did my makeup,' I thought to myself.

As I rounded the corner I saw the most beautiful man I had ever seen. He was wearing an old Daytona shirt with a pair of jeans and a belt buckle. He had on this hat with a fish on it and a fish hook on the cap, and a pair of boots. He was a beauty.

"Sadie meet my new ranch hand, you kept buggin' me so I finally listened. This is Jack." Daddy said.

Jack turned around and his eyes slowly trailed my body. Finally he stood up and outstretched his hand. I firmly grabbed it and shook it. "Howdy." He greeted.

"Howdy." I replied with a hitched voice. And he just chuckled. My thoughts were interrupted by my daddy's voice," Sadie how about you show Jack the farm. The two four-wheelers are up and runnin so just show him the ropes on how I like things done. I'm gonna go fetch my basket and work in the garden." He explained.

"Yes-sir." I replied and grabbed my gloves off the bench and looked at Jack. He was shaking daddy's hand and then looked at me. Quickly I looked away hiding my face that was now turning a light shade of pink. 'Oh lord please tell me he didn't catch me starin.' I thought.

You hurried out the screen door and braced yourself for the slam, but it didn't come. You turned around and saw Jack staring at you while closing the door. He looked you in the eyes while jogging up to you. He looked down at your small figure.

"You have pretty freckles you know that?" His voice left chills down your spine.

"Tha--Thanks.." you managed to get out.
