She had just left her office. Making her way to a French restaurant to meet her husband, fully aware that she'd be there for thirty minutes before he would arrive. London in the summer was humid and her grey suit clung to her since walking down cobbled streets with heels on worked up a sweat on her freshly tanned skin.
Entering into the restaurant, which was an originally an old bank, she admired the tall marble pillars that were dotted around the room. Speaking to the waitress, she assured her that she was meeting her husband and would wait at the bar for his arrival before occupying a table in the crowded restaurant.
Removing her suit jacket and placing it around the back of the seat, she relieved herself with some cool air on her arms, ordering a large glass of white wine and quickly checking over some emails on her phone. When the glass was placed in front of her, the barman made a witty joke which caused her to laugh, then she cupped the glass in her hand and wetted her tongue with a drink.
Harry had watched her from afar the minute she entered the building. The way her eyes appeared up at the pillars, admiring all their beauty, whilst he admired hers. He'd been pressured into after work drinks with a few friends which turned into dinner pretty suddenly. He wasn't regretting the choice to attend when she came into his view.
He made sure to laugh along with his friends whilst keeping an eye on her at all times. She was alone. Her suit jacket being removed showed him her tanned skin: sun kissed and golden, reflecting the small golden necklace that hung around her neck. Her eyebrows frowned into a line whilst looking at her phone, he wondered what she had just read.
Observing every moment around her, he felt like he had melted when she flashed her smile at the barman then drank from her white wine. For a second he forgot that he was with his friends until his mate nudged him with his arm to get his attention, his vision being taken off her for the first time since she had entered his radius. And when he looked back at her, he was greeted with her friendly eyes studying his face before she gave a small smile and dropped her stare to her wine glass before drinking from it again whilst he gave back a smirk.
After a little eye contact with a stranger and a large drink from the glass, the barman that made her laugh strikes up a small conversation with her whilst leaning on the bar top. He spoke to her about wine, which fascinated her since he seemed to be an expert. He informed her that the one she was drinking was from France - the country labeled the best for white wine.
Whilst observing her and the barman, she looked so invested in her conversation with him. Just as he was about to announce that he was going to the bar for another drink to stretch his legs, he watched a man approach her and place his hand on the lower of her spine. She turned around and his free hand cupped her chin and he kissed her lips. She looked giddy and weak at the knees with the action. It came at no shock to him that she wasn't single because no one would let an angel walk around alone in a world full of obnoxious men.
The couple followed a waitress to their table. She still had the glass of wine in her hand and her other hand held her bag. His hand was still stable on her back and he held her suit jacket in the other.
Their tables were closer together than he imagined they would be. So close he finally got to hear the sweet sound of her laugh and her angelic voice when asking for a bottle of the wine she was drinking telling the waitress that the barman knew which type it was. The conversations surrounding him dimmed down, all he could hear was her. His vision still had a clear view of her face.
After ordering, her husband dismissed himself to use the bathroom. She looked around the restaurant before reaching for the bottle sitting in a pool of ice, pouring into her glass. Whilst placing it back, she looked up again but caught his gaze this time, studying how he admired her lips then linked eyes with her before his friend called his name from across the table: Harry.
