Hey, this is my first time writing fan fiction. All characters are the property of the talented Cassandra Clare. I hope you like it. Please comment below.
Alec POV
I'm sitting here in my accounting class bored out of my mind waiting for class to end. I'm only taking it to please my father. As the eldest, I feel it's my duty to bring honor to the Lightwood name. We are after all one of the best-known families in Manhattan. My dad and mom are prominent business tycoons in NYC. Dad is always saying to be more like Izzy and Jace. No matter what I did it wasn't good enough. My real love is archery, and I'm good at it. I was captain of the high school team and led them to two state championships my jr and sr years. Now I'm in my jr year at Columbia on scholarship.
I feel my phone buzz in my pocket and see a text from my sister Izzy.
Izzy - Don't forget to meet me at our favorite coffee shop Java Joe's after your last class.
Dang it, I forgot all about meeting Izzy.
Izzy is my twin sister. Little curvy with long black hair and porcelain skin. The same as me, but with beautiful brown eyes. She is the fashionista of the Lightwood clan. She and our adopted brother Jace were always the popular ones at school. Despite being the team captain and winning two state championships, I blended into the background. After all, archery isn't a very popular sport. Me being the shy and quiet one I am, like it that way. Izzy is now studying fashion design at the Fashion Institute of NY. Jace is studying business at Columbia as well on scholarship for lacrosse.
I ran my hands through my hair getting it out of my eyes. I pulled up Jace's number and texted him.
Alec- Hey. I'm going to meet up with Izzy at Java Joe's after class. You wanna come along? It's been a while since the three of us hung out.
Jace- Sure. I'll meet you in front of the business building in 15 and we can walk together from there.
I was standing in the lobby in my trademark "try to blend in" look, a black T-shirt, black skinny jeans, and a black jean jacket. My hair was messy. I never could do anything with it no matter how hard I tried, so messy bed head look it was.
Jace came down the stairs and waved at me. He is your typical golden boy, golden blond hair, brown eyes but one was a slightly different color than the other. He was wearing skinny jeans, a green polo, and a black leather jacket. Girls were constantly staring and smiling at Jace and he would smile right back enjoying every minute of it.
"Ready to go?" I asked.
"You know it." he responded and started walking toward the shop to meet Izzy. I asked Jace how his classes were going. Jace answered, "The business law professor is going to be a pain I can tell. My accounting class is alright, but I really love my lit class."
I teased, "Let me guess, a girl right?"
"Why do you always assume it's a girl?" Jace questions back.
I smile because I know my brother. "It's always a girl." I say with a smirk.
"Alright, alright I admit it." says Jace. "She's small and petite with red hair and amazing green eyes. Her name is Clary and she's an art student."
"Why does that not surprise me." I chuckle. "Did you get her number?"
"No not yet, but I'm working on it." Jace says just as he opens the door to the coffee shop.
I see Izzy sitting with a boy at our usual table looking over textbooks and sketches. Izzy and the boy hear the bell on the door ring and look up. Izzy smiles and waves us over. I just stand there stunned and transfixed. I just can't take my eyes off the boy with Izzy. He has to be the most beautiful man I have ever seen. He's Asian with black hair spiked with blue tips and the most gorgeous dark chocolate brown almond-shaped eyes. I swear I could get lost in those eyes and be ok. He has to be in school with Izzy. This guy is a fashionista just like her, He's wearing lite eyeshadow, eyeliner, and glitter. He has on black skintight jeans, a royal blue silk shirt unbuttoned exposing some of his gorgeous Carmel colored skin. He accessorised it with some necklaces and rings. The boy locked eyes with me and smiled. I couldn't help it as a smile crept across my face as Jace and I went to join them.
Izzy couldn't help but notice. She always knew I was gay but also knew how shy and sensitive I was so she never pushed it with me. Izzy turned to the boy and said "Magnus I would like you to meet my brothers Jace and Alec. Guys this is my friend Magnus Bane."
Magnus shook Jace's hand and said, "Hi it's nice to meet you." Then he turned and grabbed my hand and asked, "Alec is that short for something?"
" Y-yes," I answered. " I-It's short for Alexander."
Great I thought. Now he's going to think I'm a bumbling idiot and started to blush.
Magnus continued to smile and say, "Alexander that's a good strong name. I like it. Mind if I call you Alexander?"
"No I don't mind," I said blushing even more. Usually, I don't like it when people called me Alexander. I feel like I am getting into trouble. When Magnus says it, it just feels right and I like it.
Magnus winked at me and let go of my hand. All four of us took our seats. I couldn't help but notice Jace and Izzy were giving each other knowing looks. We talked for quite a while and I noticed that Magnus kept looking at me. While talking, Magnus turned to Izzy and said," You know we have that runway show project coming up next month. I think pretty boy here would be a perfect model for our show." Jace chimed in and said," I'm flattered but I couldn't ..."
Magnus quickly turned to Jace and said," I wasn't talking to you, I was talking to you," looking directly at me. Magnus then got up gave Izzy a quick hug and said, "I'll see you in class tomorrow." Then he proceeded to pick up my phone off the table, put in his name and number then leaned over and whispered "Call me" in my ear and left the shop.
