The Muscles of a Heart

Prologue

Laughter rang throughout the house as two small children chased each other. The parents of the two children watched them with broad smiles on both their faces. The two children looked almost exactly alike, hair that seemed to gleam golden in the sunlight. Their eyes wide and green that seemed to be a forest of lush green trees. 

As the two children ran around the boy of the two seemed to obviously slow down to the point where you could walk faster then him. The younger girl caught up to him and seemed to realize that he wasn't playing anymore. "Kin what happened, are you okay," the girl asked concerned for the young boy who seemed to be her brother.

The parents saw this and ran over to see what was happening. As they got closer they saw the boy unable to move as he breathed heavily in panic. his hand was on his chest as his sister put a hand on his back for comfort. 

Gently pushing the daughters hand away they picked up the boy and quickly walked outside into their car, leaving the girl behind. The girl stared at the door as it closed then looks down to her hands as they shake.

The girl stared at them for almost an hour. "What was it that I saw? All I could see was red when I looked at Kin," the girl said as tears started to run down her face.

"Sunshine I have a question for you," the girl's mother said as she entered the house again after five hours of being at the hospital.

Still staring at her shaking hands, the girl looked up at her mother with wide eyes. Her mother stared back with pain in her eyes. The mother conjured up a sad smile and said with pain in her voice, "Sunshine your brother won't be able to come home anymore."

The little girl's eyes widened with surprise as her mother says this. "Mommy what do you mean? Kin isn't coming home? Why? Is he to hurt to do anything?  Did I hurt him to much," the girl said as tears once again filled her eyes.

Her eyes widened as the mother heard the girl ask if she had hurt the poor boy. The mother swallowed and said in a shaky voice, "No sunshine of course you did-"

"No I hurt Kin and I didn't mean to," the young girl exclaimed as she cut off her mother.

The mother quickly grabbed her and ran to the car that was waiting with the father inside. "Ow mommy you're hurting me," the girl exclaimed.

Right as the mother entered the father started to scream at her to take the child out of the car. The mother screamed right back, "ARE YOU AN IDIOT WE CAN'T JUST KICK HER OUT!"

The father blinked at her and smiled a some what mischievous smile. "Or we could send her to an asylum. Send her to the place she belongs for killing our poor Kin," he said in a strange voice that didn't seem quite like it should sound.

The mother stared at him as if he was crazy when suddenly she blinked and smiled the same way. Malice could be seen in her eyes that use to shine just as bright as her kids. "You are right deary she doesn't deserve to even go to a family," she said in the same strange voice.

Both turned to look at their daughter with smiles that came out of a horror movie (Hint* Hint* Pennywise) that continued to grow with each passing second. Staring at the two people she use to call parents, the girl shrunk in the seat she was thrown in. 

Dead, cold laughter filled the car as the parents continued to stare at their daughter. Their daughter seemed to understand what was to happen and lowered her head to stare at her seemingly endless shaking hands. 

She continued to stare at her hands as she felt to car pull out of the drive way and out onto the streets. Excepting the fact that she would never be able to have her family back after she is given away, she cried in anguish for her younger brother who she would miss very much.  

It took only 32 minutes to get to the place where her parents will leave her, and she will hate every single second of her life there.
