I walk Sam to her locker, as if I would usually go straight to the cafeteria to meet my other friends.

"Luke, you don't have to wait on me. I'll be fine. I'm a big girl. Besides, I know how much you want to be with your other friends." Sam's voice drops low as she speaks the last sentence.

I sigh and lean against the locker beside hers.

"Sam, you know that's not true, completely. I'd rather be here with you than them." I cross my arms and watch as she places books in either her locker or her bag.

"Yeah, okay." Sam closes her locker, and straps on her bag. She holds books close to her chest, and begins walking.

I remain beside her.

"Sam. I'm not lying. You were the first friend I ever had." I stuff my hands in my pocket, and keep my head down.

Sam sighs and stops.

"Luke, I'm sorry. I just..I get a tad bit angry when I see you with other girls, pretty girls."

I smile at the knowledge that Sam gets jealous, but frown at her insecurity.

"Sammy, you're gorgeous. Every bit of you."

"You've only seen my face, and that, for a fact, is not gorgeous."

"Maybe I've seen more." I joke.

Sam's eyes become wide as she says, "You haven't, have you? God, Luke!"

I laugh as her face turns pink.

"Well, I've seen you in a two piece swimsuit couple years back." I shrug. It's the last and first time I seen her half naked.

"Shit!" Sam says while smacking my arm, "You nearly scared the hell out of me! Don't do that again." She covers her stomach with her books.

I laugh silently.

I can't piece together why she would be so insecure. She's wonderfully beautiful in every single way.

"Sam," I take her hand and pull her aside. "I may not have seen your body, but I see your heart. That's what makes you beautiful. You don't need 'the perfect body' to be beautiful. I find you attractive as hell. You have no reason to be insecure. All your marks, all your looks, you're fucking beautiful. And if you don't believe me, I'll tell you forever. Even when I have a wife. She'll have to get over herself, because you were here first. You hold a special spot in my heart no one else can."

Sam smiles, and wraps her arm around my neck.

"I've been waiting for someone to say something like that," she whispers in my neck.

I feel a few wet spots on my shirt, noticing she's crying. I hug her tighter, then feel a smile come across both our faces.

"I love you so much, Luke."

"I love you more. You're my everything."

I gently kiss her lips, and hold her.

Just still
