The car ride felt long and agonizing, but I wish it was longer.
We pulled up to the campus, and I quickly got out. I left Sam and Dean behind, and ran for his dorm. The crowded halls didn't offer any reassurance that he was okay. A few people asked me where I have been, but I ignored them and bolted towards his door. My heart was pounding harder than it ever had, and I kept thinking of how I would find Danny.
I swung it open, and ran inside. I fell into his arms, and he let out a gasp of surprise.
Grabbing my arms to straighten me up, he asked me, "Melody, where have you been? I've been worried sick about you!" He looked very concerned, and I felt guilty for not contacting him any sooner.
"I... I had to find some people. But... You texted me about my red scarf."
"Yes, right, your red scarf. I guess I was wrong to think you would postpone asking about that." Danny's eyes turned black, and he lunged at me.
I felt sick. This was Danny, my best friend. I had to react, but I didn't know how. If I opened my mouth, I would probably throw up. Sam and Dean came through, guns ready. "Don't... Shoot him!"
Sam was ready for this, apparently. He played an exorcism on his phone, and when I was over, Danny collapsed on top of me.
I bit my lower lip, and checked for a pulse. I feared the worst for him. "He's alive." I sighed out a breath of relief, and I stayed crouched over Danny's passed out - no - asleep body, as Sam and Dean reassured the crowds of people that this was FBI business and there cannot be people present here.
I feared this would happen. Not the fear that he would be found dead, but the fear that he would be found living around nightmares. His jet black hair contrasted his pale skin, and I noticed how perfect he looked. So peaceful.
Sam and Dean stayed behind to help explain what I have been doing through this time, and what happened to him. But I was scared for when he woke up, because I wasn't sure how he would react. Nothing could really prepare me for what he said.
