She is a princess, a maiden so pure
Eyes as of dark brown as flowers wither
And hair as black as raven feathers
Yes she’s near yet i can only glimpse at her from afar
For i am but a lowly general
Willing to risk his life for her at any war
This one sided love i dearly hold
From those occasional meetings it is best left untold
So, without bravery in me to even muster
The strong word “i love you”? i have no right to utter
And now the time has come
As i stood beside her father,
Like a loyal servant would do to his master
When everyone’s eyes as well as mine
Are fixed on that lovely bride
Walking down that beautiful aisle
And although the sight of her white dress is deadly painful
There’s nothing... I, a general could do
But to smile at her happily
While my heart is breaking in two.
