"What is this really important question, Bambina?" Shuffling could be heard and footsteps could be heard. "Is this Dodger related because--oh."

Chris takes in Bambi standing in her pajamas with a guitar strapped and the Law & Order theme song faintly playing in the background.

He pads over to where she is and sets the tub of ice cream on the coffee table. "Do you want to sing Smelly Cat again?"

"Nope." Bambi sighs, nerves running through her whole body. Her grip tightens around the guitar and tells herself that this was just how she and Diane had rehearsed it. "Remember that time you asked if you could hear me play? Just me and my guitar. . ."

Chris laughs fondly, recalling the portion of their lives where they had been awkward and subtly flirting. "Yeah. . ."

"Here goes."

Bambi closes her eyes, the chords and lyrics coming into her mind little by little. She strums the guitar strings and sings with Chris watching her with love and adoration.

"That sounds great! People are going to love it." Chris tells her. He's walking closer to her--his eyes trying to decipher what was making her so nervous and jumpy. "But, Bambi, you said there was a question?"

"Er--right." Her hands hurriedly go to the pockets of her jeans and, within a few minutes, Bambi reveals a silver ring and kneels on one knee.

"Astrid Rose Grey, what are you--"

She holds the ring up with shaky fingers. "Christopher Robert Evans, you've stood by me even if the world turned had shut me out. You're humble and kind and understanding. You're truly the other half of my soul. Will you be my lover forever and ever?"
