This was the kiss of true love.
You couldn't just not take it seriously.
But both Gaea and Joseph took it extremely seriously.
So seriously, a wind picked up.
So seriously, there was a break in the clouds.
So seriously, the sky turned very dark.
So seriously, lightning started to flash.
So seriously, that...
Suddenly, the couple broke apart. The wind was swirling around Gaea so fiercely, it was almost like cyclone.
"What's going on?!" asked Joseph, over the roar of the wind.
Thunder cracked overhead.
The lightning flashed in response.
"I haven't a clue!" Gaea yelled back at him, over the noise.
A gold light started surrounding Gaea.
She was being lifted, ever so slowly, in the air by the gold light and the fierce wind.
Her whole body suddenly started to glow gold.
Golden light erupted from her finger tips and toes. And her eyes, what eyes?
She no longer had them. If you looked inside her sockets, you would just see an endless sea of blue water.
Gaea's eyes were the element of water.
Her hair started on fire. I did not burn her. Her beautiful red, flowing hair that she'd taken so long to grow out (it was at her ankles) was on fire. It did not burn away or hurt Gaea in any way.
Her hair was the element of fire.
Gaea's dress was spun of rough green fabric, with holes, created from, playing and work. It was green, but it became living. Made out of leaves, dirt, flowers, life.
Her dress was the element of earth.
These are the elements of the Earth.
Fire, water, earth.
The wind picked up even more, pulling her away from Joseph even faster.
"Joseph! I love you!" She called.
"I love you Gaea, and I will never stop loving you, not until the Sun burns out," he called back to her.
"I love you..." they said softly, together, in unison.
Thus Gaea would never return to Earth. Not unless she died.
It was impossible though.
She was immortal.
And her precious love, Joseph was not.
He was mortal.
The last thing Gaea saw before the black clouds with the thunder and the lightning swallowed her up was Joseph's loving face, waving goodbye forever.
And then there was just darkness.
Forever. Always. Secret.
